A: Hey Oli, good question, crickets are actually one of the pests this spray is labeled for. The clove oil formula works as a contact and repellent treatment, so for best results you'll want to spray directly in the areas where you're seeing them (baseboards, entry points, dark corners) rather than just a general perimeter spray, and reapply every couple weeks or after rain if you're using it outdoors. A: Hi, thanks for asking, this is a great question to check on first. The good news is clove oil is a much gentler option than synthetic pesticides, which is exactly why we formulated it this way, but birds, and parakeets especially, have very sensitive respiratory systems, so we'd still recommend some caution, as you would with any spray (even natural ones) around them. Best practice: don't spray directly in the room with your bird, move their cage out or cover it if you're treating a nearby area, and make sure the space is well-ventilated and fully dry before your parakeet goes back in. Once it's dried and aired out, you're in much better shape than you'd be with a harsher chemical treatment. Let us know if you have other questions!

Essential Pest Control uses clove oil and cottonseed oil as its active ingredients instead of the synthetic pesticides in most conventional sprays, which is a big part of why parents pick it. A few tips to get the most out of it with a little one in the house:
• Treat where bugs travel: baseboards, cracks and crevices, behind and under appliances, door and window frames. Targeted spraying works far better than misting a room.
• Let treated surfaces dry before the room is back in normal use. Takes just a few minutes.
• Keep it off the crib, mattress, bedding, and plush toys. Spray the room, not the sleep space.
• Heads up that the clove scent is noticeable going on and fades as it dries. Some people like it, some crack a window.

Smells Good, but Doesn't Work At All
This had a mild pleasant smell, but it didn't work at all. I live in an apartment and our garbage pick up is right outside our doors. My neighbors leave theirs out on days there isn't pick up and it attracts flies. I sprayed this directly on the flies, and they flew around me taunting me. I sprayed it in the entryway and left to run an errand. When I came back, there were more flies than before!! I wish it had lived up to it's promise, but was sadly disappointed. I will be returning it.
