Q: Is back & sides of Carson 3 shelf bookcase wood or stiff cardboard?
A: The side panels are wood/wood composite and the back panel is essentially rigid cardboard. The shelves are very nice and good quality. No complaints.

Q: Can these bookshelves be placed together so that the tops have no gap between the tops? The legs look slightly flared outwards, which might prevent that placement. Thanks.
A: No, It looks like it but it is not. All 4 legs are straight not angle at all. They are not flared outwards.
