Large Chunky Weave Basket - Threshold™ designed with Studio McGee

Perfect size

I bought the largest size just for throws and couch pillows. To help combat any shedding I vacuum the basket of any loose fibers, then place on old scrap boards covered in press n seal food wrap to prevent sticking and spray several very light coats of a clear polyacrylic in matte finish to keep that natural look. Polyacrylic if sprayed too heavy any pooling will turn white and stay white. If I accidentally get a drip, I swipe it off quickly with fingertip, before it gets a chance to dry and always spray out of direct sunlight, as it will dry too fast before it hits the basket and you’ll get tiny white bubbles in some spots. Do several light coats, waiting at least 30 minutes to an hour between coats(dries to touch after 30 minutes). Then place some press n seal on a table or spot on floor in an area out of the way and set basket on top to cure for at least a week or more before placing throws in. Yeah, sounds like a lot of work, but polyacrylic never yellows and helps ‘glue’ those fibers together preventing loose degree from getting all over your floors and rugs, therefore cutting down on future vacuuming and cleaning! This is a beautiful basket but be aware this type basket has no built-in structural support, so it’s meant more for items like toss couch pillows, throws, clothes, stuffed toys, etc. It’s not meant to store heavy objects that are tall and placed leaning against the sides as this can distort the shape. This basket is top quality! Pottery Barn dupe but at a way better price point. I bought the smaller one for downstairs but feel like I need the larger one as well.

I love the look of this basket. The chunky weave adds great texture and warmth to a space, and it feels sturdy and well made. The handles are substantial and make it easy to move around. The material would break off and I had to vacuum constantly. The handle ended up breaking off.

I’ve ordered my fair share of “decorative” baskets over the years, and most of them end up being either flimsy, oddly shaped, or just not as nice in person as they look online. This one surprised me—in a good way. Right out of the box, you can tell it’s thoughtfully made. The weave is tight and consistent, with just enough variation to give it that relaxed, lived-in look without feeling messy. It has that Studio McGee–inspired style that somehow manages to feel both clean and cozy at the same time. Neutral, but not boring. What I appreciate most is that it’s actually functional. I’m currently using mine to store throw blankets in the living room, and it holds more than I expected without losing its shape. Even when it’s not completely full, it still stands up nicely and doesn’t collapse in on itself like a lot of other baskets do. The handles feel sturdy too—not like they’ll rip off the first time you try to move it. I’ve carried it back and forth between rooms a few times already, and it still looks as good as when I got it. It’s one of those pieces that quietly pulls a space together. You don’t necessarily notice it right away, but if you took it out, the room would feel less finished. For something so simple, that’s saying a lot. If you’re on the fence, I’d say it’s worth it. It looks good, works hard, and doesn’t feel like a throwaway purchase. Honestly, I wish I had picked one up sooner.

Total Pottery Barn dupe, for a way lower price!! The size, and style of this basket can’t be beat, highly recommend!!

I own these and both the Pottery Barn look alike and I don’t care what anybody says the quality is really not much different. The price however is far better at target. I paid $129 for one of these at Pottery Barn and much like these. They’re not perfect, but I love the style of both.

Incorrect measurements, much smaller than stated. Basket stands just over 13” tall and the diameter is also 13” it is stated to be 17x16. Sadly. Was really looking forward to this! Extremely over priced for such a small basket.

It's a great size and the material seems very well and the craftsmanship is well made. I have this in my living room and will be storing my blankets in it. I should be able to fit 3 blankets in it nicely. I love the look and how rustic it feels.

Cheaply made and sheds

I can see it being used as shown in my photos to hold blankets in our basement, but I could also see it being used for laundry, specifically towels. It's cute and adds to the decor of the room but is also functional to keep blankets organized. I could use one in every room!
