Q: what is the diameter of the rod? the description says it holds up to 20 lbs. is that a typo? 20 lbs isn't very much weight. what do you do if your closet is wider than 61 inches?

I functions well. But I specifically wanted black. It's gray. The descriptions says black finish. But it's says gray on the box. I didn't realise and my Husband (kindly) installed it for me. lol sort of annoyed. On one hand, I love that I have a wardrobe pole that functions well but yhe again I will always hate that it's gray and not black. So not the vibe I was going for. The details online are vague but it states it has a black finish. So I expected black and not a weird gray colour.

Just bought it today, so too soon to give a full review. Installing was easy. You’ll need a drill, a Phillips head screwdriver, and a 5mm drill bit (I used a 7/32 and did ok, it left the drywall anchors a little proud and I ended up with a mm or two gap, which I don’t mind. It could be avoided using a 1/4 bit for the top 1/16 of the hole or so to sink the head of the anchors, or similar. Or buy a 5mm bit when you buy this kit.) I used the square spacers that come with the kit to hold the end caps to measure the placements- they center it nicely and it was easier for me. The color isn’t black, but a nice dark gunmetal gray. The end caps are meant to be permanent, there’s a push button to place and remove the rod, seems like a nice quick feature. I’m using it as an interior mounted curtain rod, it’s functional for that weight wise.
