Fun but harder to connect.
My 3 year old loves it but she can't play with it alone. I am a working mom so we love interactive parent toys, which this is. (If you are a SAHM and wanting a break, this isn't it.) we have a blast with it and she loves it. , , , , My only complaint is that I don't quite understand how it was engineered because the clear pieces don't seem to consistently fit in the square dimensions (like one clear piece is not equal to the length of 2 squares, it's generally annoyingly ever so slightly longer, regardless of it you are doubling up the squares with round holes or not.) it's not critical to building it, it just means it's harder to build a secure base for it, harder to Re-enforce it and harder to build up without it collapsing. It seems like an easy fix that could make it a lot better. (Also the expansion ball run seems to be a little better dimension wise.) , , , , So the assembly is a little harder than it looks. The easiest and most secure way to build is to put a square piece on every end of the clear pieces and then put 2 squares together. It makes it a lot more fun for the kids and easier to reconfigure. (Not quite sure if that is how it was intended but we find that easier and more secure.) , , , , Base plates are really helpful to have with this product. It also works better if you have a larger pack with a lot of squares. , , , , We have a one year old and have to be careful around her because of the ball size and chocking concerns. , , , , I have pictures showing the length problems but no where to post them, connetix happy to send them to you directly if you want to work on understanding the problem.
