Review Quotes
"A wonderful resource for kids, this book introduces them to a variety of sky stories that engage, teach, and motivate them to explore and appreciate their surroundings. Written in a voice and style that can be read by parents or children, Ann's words are accompanied by kid-friendly illustrations that include both constellations and sky maps!" --Michael A. DiSpezio, author, educator and scientist
"Ann does a wonderful job at simplifying constellations in the night sky for children who wonder about the stars. Her keen understanding of mythology and the stars themselves shines through, making this an enjoyable read for both children and parents." --Jonathan Irick, 6-12 Edutech product manager and former 7-12 science teacher
"Has your child ever looked up at the night sky and noticed an outline of a bear, a lion, a square, or even a person? People throughout time have done the same thing--and made stories to explain all those bright pictures in the night sky. This book will have young readers eagerly scanning the night sky to connect the stars to these exciting stories. Perfect for reading in the backyard, in a forest, or just near an open window, this book will tap into your child's curiosity and sense of wonder as you explore the stories of the stars." --Lynnette Brent, managing director of product, author, and scout leader
"Mythos and constellations are stories as old as time--and the stories are often as complex as they are plentiful. Ann Pearson does a phenomenal job at taking those complexities and twisting them into age-appropriate, bite-sized pieces. She doesn't shy away from the darker themes, nor does she negate any material. However, she excels in providing just enough cushion to allow the whimsy of the mythos to come through while adhering to the tougher topics of discussion." --Morrigan Villa, M. Ed, middle school counselor
"This endearing book is easily one of the best children's books written and designed to support children's understanding and visualizing of the constellations. The graphics, constellation maps, and vocabulary index are all superb. This will make a fantastic addition to any home library. It will quickly become any child's favorite!" --Jessica Mundt, education technology specialist
