Q: Does this shade mount to the top or the side
A: Dear Mel. This shade has universal brackets. It is therefore suitable for both inside and outside mounting.You would mount the brackets to the top if you do inside mounting. For outside mounting, the screws are inserted into the back of the brackets.

Q: Does the white model offer any UV protection? If so, how much in approximate %? Thanks
A: Dear Sara. Target does not require a UV protection percentage test. The fabric does provide protection from UV rays, because it is light filtering and provide insulation due to the honeycomb fabric contruction.

Q: can you trim the width?
A: Dear Susan. Unfortunately, it is not possible to trim the width of this item. Hopefully one of the ready-made widths will fit your window frame measurements.

Q: If mounting inside the window do I need to subtract two inches from the width?
A: Dear Gray. The actual product width is 0.5" smaller to ensure that it fits inside your window frame. Therefore you don't have to subtract anything. 2 Inches is too much.
