Cricut 3' Smart Vinyl Permanent Shimmer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has a long lifespan, a good price, and very secure packaging. I love the ability to design things, and the best thing about the product is that it can be used in many ways. Its versatility is incredible.

I was quite surprised to see so many favorable reviews until I noted many had received this product free! I loved the color & shimmer of this vinyl but what a nightmare it turned out to be. I cut on the appropriate settings with MORE pressure & STILL had to fight to get the item to weed as a large portion of my project didn’t cut all the way through. It was beyond frustrating to have to spend a huge amount of time just to try to weed & save my project! The roll comes with a sheet of strong transfer tape but for the life of me I don’t know why. Most of my project wouldn’t even stick to the original backing sheet that it came with. Perhaps I just have a defective roll??? Nothing is impossible but I won’t purchase again nor will I recommend. My project was for a paying customer. No way can I sell it in good faith. I’ll have to inform them & remake in a different color. I love Cricut but I keep finding myself losing money due to crap materials like this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used cricut a while now, and their vinyl doesn’t disappoint. I liked that this vinyl wasn’t as thick as some of the other glitter vinyl I’ve gotten in the past. It’s easy to work with and it cuts great on medium and extra pressure, depending on the project. There’s no plastic smell and it’s ready to go!

I have years of experience working with vinyl. While I love the looks of this vinyl, my Maker 3 would not cut the entire way thru. Once I changed the setting from glitter vinyl (as instructed to use in the Cricut help section) to smart vinyl, it cut thru but it was still super hard to weed and the transfer paper that came with it would not pick it up even after burnishing many many times. I replaced my fine-point blade last night, so it wasn’t a dull blade issue. Wasting so much expensive product was such a shame! I won’t be purchasing the glitter vinyl again.

I utilized purple and silver shimmer to layer ontop of a dark greeen shimmer to create a wall statement. The shimmer lent depth and definition to pop the design perfectly.

Beautiful color and awesome quality. Maker3 and smart vinyl is the bomb!
