Dickies Men's Slim Straight Fit Twill Work Pants

I really want to like these pants. I have a tall, slim figure (6’1”, 155lbs) and I like the cut around the legs. Only problem is they’re very tight around the groin. Have to wear these very low on the hips and almost sag. It’s so bad that it feels like walking around with a permanent wedgie and a visible crease in the crack. I’m struggling to understand what kind of person would fit well in these, as someone with a slim build and almost no behind I don’t see how anyone with a thicker build could comfortably wear these without these pants completely riding up their rear. Going to keep these in hopes that they loosen up a bit over time and because they’re cheap with a nice fit around the legs.

I bought these for my teenage grandson to wear on his job at a fast food kitchen. They hold up to laundering every day and come clean every time to look as good as new. I have ordered a second pair.

The zipper is just too short and makes them uncomfortable and difficult to tuck in shirt.

Great fit and not so baggy in the legs. Please know that I wear a 33 x 34 and they are never in stock anymore 🙁

Size 34 waist pants measured almost 36". Not "fitted" at waist... Like a pair of 874's with the top inch and a half cut off. I've 4-pair of 874's, (2) 33's and two with 34" waist; all fit far better at the waist than these 873 pants. I'm thin; 5'-7", 140 lbs & 33" waist. Zipper is indeed quite short. Shorter rise than 874's should work better for me since I wear pants on the hip (there's nothing else for them to hang onto). Had to alter the pants by taking up about 1.5" at the back of the waistband (after washing and drying with high heat), feathering the take-out half-way down the seat. So tailored, they now fit well. The "size up" guidance for 874's does not apply to this pair of pants.

The Dickies 873 slim fit pants are good quality. I prefer the slim fit trim leg but those appear to be disc by Dickie.. the current version has an extra pocket on the leg which I do not want.

These pants are great! They fit almost perfect for a taller slimmer figure. The only issues I encountered were groin tightness as well as the clasp in place of a button. When bending over the clasp can often come undone.

I love these pants. I’ve used Dickies all my life. I always wore the double knee ones but now they are looking a little “Hammer Pants”-y. These have just enough slack to not look like Skinny jeans. I do like the clasp closure instead of the button close. The zipper must be brand new. Kinda hard to zip up, but I make it work.

These pants are my favorite. Very nice slim fit, and just as tough as the original 874s. They aren’t slim like a skinny pant, but they are a tad bit slimmer than the classic 874, giving a nice slim look to the legs and seat. I would recommend sizing up though, the pant has a very small/short rise, and it could feel tight I. The groin if you are bigger or heavier. If very slim or skinny, you’re good with regular size. I’m heavy, so I ordered a 36, instead of my usual 34, and they fit just right. Awesome pants. I do wish and hope that Dickies could add more colors to the 873 Slim line.

I’ve been a longtime fan of the Slim Taper work pants. I ordered these in the same size and they were far too small in the thighs and groin, to the point of being unwearable.

Bought these pants for skating because I figured they’d be inexpensive and durable. They proved to be just that. My knee hit pavement first session with them and they slid instead of tore. I bought another pair.

Slim fit needs inseam lengths like the others. I have to order red kap because I need 28" inseam. I like the dickies, but of no worth without having a 28" inseam option.

Every Dickies work pants purchased in past 8 years have poor quality on manufacturing. So, why do I continue buying ? Dickies is good for the light duty work wear that I do, and meets minumum dress code. Usually, pants wear out within a year ( color fading, creases gone ). These 873 have same issues as always > cuffs poorly cut ( uneven, at a angle, up to 1/2" short on one side ).

Pants fit great. Problem is poor selection of colors and sizes. I would buy more if they had more colors that had matching shirts in my size.

I ordered a 38/32 slim fit pants. When I opened the package, the sticker on the pants said 38/32, however, the actual size was 38/30 as I later found on the pants inner label. Better quality controls needs to be in placed.

Great fit and durable fabric, but the fabric developed “pilling” or sort of a fuzz on it after only a few weeks for wear and washing. I wear these in a business casual office environment because they’re cheap, look good, and fit well. They’d be perfect if it weren’t for the fuzz.

Fit is perfect, waist and length. Like always Dickies run way slimmer in the waist so size up. I normally wear 34w so go to 36w when purchasing Dickies pants. 30L stops at the top of my shoes like I want in a pant. I like just a little more slimmer leg. Skateboarding pants straight fit are perfect pants.
