Smells great and last long
My family love Downy Fresh Protect Scent Beads. The scent is very fresh, elegant and long lasting. I keep using this product over and over again. It keeps my towels, clothes and bedding sheets smells clean for days after washing. The container size is generous. Refreshing scent
I love to add a bit of scent to my clothes since I use free and clear detergent due to having sensitive skin. I’ll just add a little of this to give it that freshness and it’s perfect. It’s not too overwhelming and a little goes a long way. Definitely recommend!

Changed Scent
I used to love April Fresh. They must have changed their formula sometime this year, because now it smells pretty bad. Very sharp and almost sour. I’m very sad and looking for a new scent!

Weird scent toward end of note
I haven't used Downy April Fresh in years. It used to be my favorite but there was a change to the formula and I tried others. I decided to give it another go as I was tired of my current scent and bought these beads. Wow, they actually smell bad. I can't describe it, but it's toward the end of the scent, it's sort of sweet and sour, it's definitely not fresh.

This product causes hives!!
I added these beads to our laundry routine. I loved the smell it left. However, my husband broke out in hives and ended up in urgent care! Rewashed a lot of our clothes and bedding. On day 7 and he still isn’t feeling well. Do not get this product!!

Worth the price!
I love these odor defense beads! My bedding still smells wonderful 1 week after using. Socks still smell fresh at the end of the day. Using them for my washable curtains. Now we just need an odor defense scented Fabreeze as strong as the beads for items we can't wash in a machine.

It ate threw the plastic of my brand new washer! And I only used them 2 times!

Turned my new white towels pink.
I do not recommend this product. Turned my lovely new white towels pink. I am trying to bleach them back but other reviews say it doesn’t work. Tossing out this product.

When it comes to Downy we always want our scent beads to leave your laundry smelling amazing after extensive quality testing, so we're sad to hear this, Taloola. Rewashing these towels with your detergent and favorite stain treater should help with this. For best results, we recommend adding the beads directly into the drum of your washer before adding clothing, etc. and before starting the wash. Do not put in the dispenser drawer, as adding the beads directly into the drum of the washer first will allow the beads to dissolve faster.
