Q: are these compostable?

  • A: Check with your local diaper composting service. Dyper brand diapers in general are not compostable through municipal composting services - human and animal waste must be treated and managed separately than compostable food scraps and untreated paper products, etc. I contacted EarthBaby (now ReDyper SF) that services the SF Bay Area, and they do compost the Dyper Charcoal diapers. They will soon also be offering the charcoal diapers and wipes but could not yet give an eta on when.

  • A: No wetness indicator due to the color of the material, which is more like Batman gray than Black. Didn't miss it at all though.

Q: Why is the outer layer enhanced with charcoal - it isn't coming into contact with any of the smelly stuff? Shouldn't it be on the inside layers actually abosorbing the urine?

  • A: Layer next to the skin is pure white 3D embossed plant-based material that let's the urine go throuh into the core of the diaper where it is locked. Outside keeps the locked stuff in.

    These are quality diapers but

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are quality diapers but I have two complaints about them: 1) Since these are black, there's no wetness indicator which means checking requires a little more involvement than a quick look. 2) The sizing seems to run quite large. My daughter is within the size 1 suggestions but realistically they are too big at the moment and will have to wait for the second half of the suggestion weight range.

Plus, there was no skin irritation or elastic marks. The only suggestion I would make is to use a size 3 for my 22-pound child. They're supposedly up to size 28 and they fit him snugly, but for 22 pounds a size 4 would be better. I truly recommend this product.

When he did wear them, there were no leaks but we were only able to try a few because of the fit. I wish they made more sizes!

We have been using them on my niece and they hold up really well. No leaks, no coming undone. They fit great and are better than any popular brands on diapers we have tried. They’re soft, comfortable, and seem to do a great job keeping our baby dry, especially overnight. I have had great success in not needing to wake up in the middle of the night as often because our baby hasn’t woken up as much screaming because of an uncomfortable diaper. The fit overall is great and I do appreciate not having to change diapers as much. Overall, these have quickly become one of our favorite diapers. They’re a little more expensive than some other options, but for us the comfort, absorbency, and overall quality will make them worth it. Definitely recommend!

It worked the same as a regular diaper, and the charcoal was only on the outside layer. Packaging and website didn’t make it clear either. I would prefer tcf which these don’t appear to be. They were a bit stiff and bulky so I would use them as a nighttime diaper so they don’t get in the way of my baby learning to walk. I would also love a paper packaging vs plastic.

    Worth it

    I purchased these expecting them to be a gimmick, but they actually worked! Our EBF baby had their longest sleep stretch to date. I’m so pleasantly surprised! The fit is excellent our girl is 90 in height and 25% weight and has been in an in between size with other brands. This fit perfectly for her. I love the design and just beyond happy to have gotten more sleep!

    Just buy them already
