I have ready very Emily Henry book & have enjoyed them all immensely. This one went a bit more PG/PG-13 than all of her others regarding the intimacy explanation and also took me a bit longer to get into in the beginning. Still worth the read.

I really liked it. The portrayal of the small town in Northern Michigan makes you believe you are there. The characters all were really well developed. I personally could relate very much to the main character. I thought this was a great book and I couldn't step away until i got to the end. Good read if you need a post break up to finding more than what you thought you lost this was what I needed to read right now.
Not so funny story. Wanted to like it, but couldnt. Weed, laziness, and a chick who keeps talking about her ex. Definitely portrays women as dumb.

Wanted to enjoy it, but once the author started talking about laziness and weed I felt like the book went downhill. Got about 40 pages in and it was just bad writing. Main character with ex separation issues. Too much jumping around between characters. Portrayed women as defenseless and dumb. Not so funny story. Not impressed, NEXT!!!

I really enjoyed this! I haven’t been super impressed with EH’s last two books, so I was a little hesitant to read Funny Story. But Emily is back! Funny Story was witty, smart, and so much fun. I laughed out loud so many times. I love that it was mostly just light and fun (Happy Place was so melancholy, I couldn’t handle that again). Overall a very solid book that I liked a lot.

I like her writing style, but there's no story. Maybe a tiny back story, but it feels like she's just reinreating concersations that really don't go anywhere. Or, maybe they're going somewhere... who know's? I'm 1/2 way through and nothing has grabbed me. Page 173. She would probably be a GREAT screen writer. I'll wait for the movie!

I love Emily Henry and any romance book and this was so good. It was so funny and cute I finished it in 3 days which is very different for me because it usually takes me months to finish books. Definitely recommend!
