Galvanized Rim Planter 8in - Gardener's Supply Company

The weld holding the top rim came loose in a couple spots. The handles are a little flimsy. But, it will work. Probably will not purchase anymore.

They have no drainage. They are also very hard to drain because the "handles" tilt the planter full of waterlogged soil at crazy, unmanageable angles so the planter is unmanageable and the muck goes everywhere. One storm was enough to kill the outdoor plants in them, but they are too heavy to have on a stand in the house.

I chose this planter carefully because I have a large fern in a 10.5" plastic pot and wanted that plastic pot in something more attractive. This planter is described as 12" in diameter, but the broad inner rim at the top reduces that to 9" so my 10.5" pot didn't come close to fitting. Oddly, the description says how much potting soil the planter will hold, but it doesn't mention that the width of the opening is significantly smaller than 12"! However, Customer Service was absolutely great and immediately took care of the problem, replacing the narrow one with a similar one that works perfectly. Thanks to Germaine, a very annoying situation had a happy ending. So, this is a lovely planter and I do recommend it for all sorts of uses, but beware that you can't put any pot larger than 9" into it. (And it's pretty tall/deep so you'll need either a tall, narrow pot, or you'll need to put something inside the planter to lift the pot up.)

Not what you would expect for something galvanized, but it is beautiful. We haven't planted anything in it yet. It's a beautiful piece as is.

#sweepstakes I love the pair of galvanized containers. I placed in a high traffic area and I love how narrow these containers are. Very lightweight and easy plugging draining holes. I've had tons of compliments from family and friends on the containers, and have highly recommended Gardener's supply to the all.

The planter I received was different from what I ordered. I don't like replacement of an item without my permission. Still awaiting credit after two weeks.

I planted at this pair of containers in a high traffic area. Easy to move when needed. I love the size of each container. They drain well. It brings a fancier look to the galvanized option for containers.

It is a nice pot/planter, however the thick rim makes the opening of the pot too small for anything but a few flowers/annuals or plants. It is a tall pot, so to have the right scale, you would need something a bit taller, but unfortunately the wide brim makes that difficult. I would not buy again.

Ordered both sizes and received the large one, they shipped a different planter for the small one. Packing slip was correct but they sent the wrong one. Can't get anyone on the phone or answer an email. Bottom line life is too short even though it was a gift for my wife she said we'll just use the one they sent. Won't be ordering from this company again.

These planters are really pretty! Super sturdy, and large capacity. I bought both to sit next to each other on the front porch. The smaller one has a much smaller opening on top for planting, but theY look so rustic and charming next to each other.

Bought two of the 12" galvanized planters. Bought two hanging plants, cut off the hangers and set the plants on top of each planter. Opened one drain hole on each planter and water each each planter in the AM and PM. They look gorgeous and both were totally labor free.

This bucket is attractive yet rustic and perfect for my assortment of herbs that will be living on the porch all summer long as soon as the warm weather sets in. The drainage holes and large size of the bucket will ensure my herbs are healthy and happy!

I am using these pots spread out in my perennial gardens. Was looking for an alternative to the terra cotta pots I've had for years and not a fan of plastic. These seem to fit the bill.

Can't wait to grow tomatoes in this container

Not sure what I'm going to do with this planter but I really like how it looks. It fits with my overall design so I'll find someway to use it.
