the design is beautiful and iI love its compact design. it's brighter than i would want for a reading and as other reviewers wrote, the power button is VERY bright. i have to cover mine with a post it.

My fault entirely - the lamps were too small in my bedroom and the Nickel did not fit at all. Went back to get the brass look I had before and a larger model.

The night light feature is too bright, but can be disconnected by detaching the black wire. The dimming feature is great. Hang properly, between the readers head and shoulders or you risk being blinded when turning it off. Necessary to do also because otherwise the cord cover will be too short.

perfect size. throws a ton of light for such a small lamp. dimmer is a bonus, also, the on/off switch has a small light built in which makes it glow in the dark, great feature - no more fumbling around looking for a light switch in the middle of the night. Many compliments from friends on these.
