Great for children to learn < = > ..
We have had lots of learning fun with these pan balance scales.. I have been teaching my 6 year old less than, more than and equal to recently, and these have really helped to demonstrate this. We have had lots of fun weighing water against different objects to see which is heavier. I found these scales helpful as they can be used for either liquid's or solid's. They are well made, and come apart easily to store.

Not just any old balance!
It's amazing how many different uses small children can find for a simple pan balance! Once we'd opened it we started to compare the weights of various household objects but my daughter had better ideas! Within no time at all she'd used them to measure out sweets in her pretend sweet shop and to compare the weight of various play doh shapes she'd cut out. They're easy to store and I've found that a useful place to store little toys rather than having them laying around. The balance is a nice talking point around the dinner table!
