Has fun ideas on the cards. The parts are somewhat cheap and they tip over often. For the most part it’s fine but gets annoying. My son still likes it though!

Terrible quality

Numerous items in the set did not work properly, pieces did not attach properly. I also assumed that it came with all the items for the experiment cards included, but it did not so this was not something you can get an use right away, you have to plan ahead to make sure you have the extra items needed.

Fun, fun, fun. My grandson likes to help with cooking, so I thought he would love mixing potions and colors. I was right. So cool.

Pros: realistic lab tools, fosters science vocabulary engaging activity cards uses common household items fosters imaginative play Cons: more appropriate for an older learner, perhaps 5-6 year olds, with adult assistance, even older for independence; activity cards should be bi-lingual

My son loved using this set and often asks to play with it again! He loved using the tools and seeing the changes occur. I liked that he had to follow directions and use some problem solving skills.

Perfect for Summer

The Science Journal is really useful with a wipe-off crayon/marker especially if you're using this with non-readers. We haven't gotten through all of the cards yet but I appreciate that most of the items listed thus far are household items and do not require a trip to the store to do this activity. This was a huge hit - perfect for playing outside (or probably inside on a rainy/winter day with a big towel) for all of the spills and food coloring. The almost 6 year old was really excited about brainstorming all of the things that could be done with the pieces even after the projects were completed. Easy to follow instructions, large enough spaces to pour the liquid into the funnels for little hands that are still working on coordination, and pretty easy to clean with warm soapy water. 4 stars because I'm not sure if the tubing will start to get moldy after a few uses, even with thorough drying. Another thing that would be helpful is if there were ballpark times on each card for the activities. Sometimes we have 20 minutes, sometimes we have 2 hours - it would be helpful to know what we are getting started on before we're half way in and unable to finish it and then have to start over later.

My class loved using this product to investigate science and make science experiment! They loved mixing and pouring using fine motor skills. It was fun to see them using science tools that were bright colored and easy for them to use on their own.

This was an interesting game for the preschool classroom. It was a little harder for them to understand the terminology. When trying to teach them about mixing liquids and making new liquids and asking them their hypothesis they didn't comprehend what would happen. They used certain guesses such as the liquid would turn to pizza and so forth. I would recommend this to a kindergarten classroom where they are able to understand more of the vocabulary associated with this lab kit!

This is a great lab set. My 7 year old loves to play with it and his older sister (10) likes to play with him when he takes this out. This set is quality construction and I really like the Key concepts that are listed on each experiment card - they allow them to further research the topics on the computer. The experiments are easy to read and understand and this is a great way to play and learn together. I received this product as part of an incentivized review program but would recommend to anyone to purchase in the future!

Great Starter Kit for your budding scientist

4 out of 5 stars

This science kit was sturdier than I expected. The packaging easy to open and to store the items when not in use. The microscope is a nice introduction for kids and seems pretty durable and very simple to assemble. The other pieces work relatively well together; though the stand doesn't grip the plugs very well leading to a precarious scenarios with liquids, tubing, and funnels. The first time we played with it we did a few of the experiments that we could do with things we had on hand. The instructions are on durable cards which as a parent I appreciate a lot. They won't get immediately ruined. The instructions are very word heavy and light on the diagrams so an adult is needed to traverse the set-up and execution. My kid (5 years old) loved the whole thing though. In between experiments she would rearrange things, put pieces together and look at any objects within reach under the microscope. I will continue to use the set, but might source the experiments myself via an online resource.

Mad Scientists at Large!

I was really excited to get this 45 piece lab set for my three boys ages 3, 7 and 9. They all like to experiment by mixing different items together, so I knew they would like it, plus this set has lots of realistic items that make it a lot more fun (as well as introduce higher vocabulary words) to use than kitchen cups and bowls. They love to use this set to experiment and mix different items together. Because it is easy to clean using a bottle bush, I don't mind letting them have free reign of the kitchen to experiment their hearts out! They love to mix baking soda, vinegar, water, food coloring, oil, milk and other powders together. We've had talked about mixing colors, mixing liquids, mixing powders; we've observed the differences in how various liquids flow in water, which liquids flow faster and ho w different liquids react with different powders. We've had the set for a few months now and we've yet to use the experiment cards that came with the set, but they look fantastic and I can't wait to try them with the boys. This set always keeps the boys entertained for over an hour, we really love it. While I really love this kit, I do have several issues with it. One is the stand's construction is horrible. It is very flimsy and does not want to stand up. It often gets knocked over unless someone is holding onto it or they try to pin it up against something. Another problem is the tubes get clogged and won't drain liquids unless they are at just the right position. While this has led to discussions about gravity and water displacement, it does lead to some frustrations as well. I also wish that the eyedropper bulb came off so cleaning it would be easier.

My 3 year-old loves to play with water and this toy takes water play to the next level. He can play with it on his own or we can do experiments together. The goggles, dropper and microscope are so cute and great quality! The best part about it is that I know he an use it for years to come with more sophisticated experiments and it appears that it will hold up to use over the years.
