A: Hello, Thanks so much for reaching out. This item does not come with a remote control. Instead, it uses a control box that connects directly to the tree to manage the lighting settings. This control box allows you to switch between different lighting modes and colors.

Q: Can a quick connect pole type tree be placed in a rotating tree stand where the lights will still work or can I only use this type of pole technology in the stand it comes with?

This is a very nice tree for the price. It is tall and slender. The light controls are fun, there are multiple options from solid white or solid color to fading, to switching back and forth. The only reason I did not give it five stars is I like a lot of lights on a tree and this feels a bit sparse. I can add some strings though and it is a really pretty tree otherwise. Very happy with my purchase.

Thus is a pretty enough tree at a good price on sale but it is not super full. It is probably full enough for some people though
