This cooler is designed with a variety of outdoor adventures in mind, offering features like large wheels for easy transportation over sand, extended handles, and ample storage space. While it excels in mobility and versatility, with added conveniences such as a butler tray and dry storage, some guests have experienced issues with ice retention and durability, particularly with the lid hinge and handle. Despite these concerns, many find it a valuable investment for their beach, camping, and sporting event needs.

This thing is a beast! I thought about it for several months before buying and wasn’t disappointed. The stowaway table is a cool feature. It’s pretty heavy with several can and a big bag of ice but the long handle makes it feel very light to roll around. It doesn’t hold ice for 4 days but I didn’t expect it to. I added a case of beverages and a big bag of ice, 24 hours later most of the ice was still there even after opening it often, and 48 hours later there was still a decent amount of ice. It outperformed my expectations. Aside from all that, it’s really cool to look at. I’d definitely recommend it.

Cool but not worth the price

Pros: Cool looking, a lot of usable features, easy to pull Cons: lid does not lock and there is no seal, advertised to keep ice for 4 days and I just tested it and it lasted approx 30hrs. For the price I would NOT buy this product again had I know the lid would be a pain to keep shut and the ice retention is worse than a normal cheap ice chest. Igloo please redesign this one with a gasket and lid that locks and it would be perfect and probably retain ice longer

Stripped structural threads

I am very disappointment with the brand new Trailmate cooler I received today. Upon inspection, I found the two screws that secure the bottom rail were completely loose and free-spinning, the threads were visibly stripped and filled with broken plastic. This is a product failure caused by thread stripping. It highlights a fundamental design flaw where screws are fastened directly into plastic, a poor choice for long-term durability. This method is simply unable to withstand the forces applied during use. The failure is a direct result of a design that prioritizes a simple, low-cost assembly over a more robust and enduring fastening method, such as using metal inserts or through-bolts, which would prevent this kind of issue.

Used for one week at the beach. Tray inside of lid just falls when you close it. Never worked since the lever that holds it is too loose. Cover of handle has come almost completely off. Rubber seal for the dry compartment is out of place already. Worst part is, upon receiving the chest, ai realize two small knobs that hold the tray in the inside of the top lid do not hold. The bottom one just flops to the side and the tray falls when you close the lid. Tried to tighten the screw, but didn't help. Disappointed on these flaws after such an expensive lurchase. Most expensive chest I've ever bought and not very happy due to those flaws. Positive note - moves pretty good through the sand and the tie down spots on the sides and back of the chest are great.

Truly, a great cooler through and through

This exact cooler has lasted me seven full seasons in the end of August. The only thing that has failed is the axle for the wheels which I do believe I could fix it, but it is showing obvious signs where we go camping a lot it’s tumbled down a hill. I have no complaints and when it fell down the hill, the lid did pop off and ripped the screw out that holds the lid from completely opening and backwards, but I just sealed the hole with a little bit of Insulation and silicone and re-drilled the hole and it lasted three or four more summers after that and I’ve used it in the winter if you have the money strongly strongly suggest this cooler but don’t believe the hype if it says seven day ice cut it in half and that goes with almost every cooler out there with the exception of a couple But it’s a great cooler. I’m really thinking about not upgrading and buying the same one just a different color to change it up.

LOVED THIS! Has space on the front for your keys and sunglasses, chairs and beach towels bungeed to the top, fishing rods or umbrellas in the back, lots of cup holders, wheels go right thru the sand. Also holds ice for days. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Keeps ice long but has some design flaws

We took this for a four day softball tournament. Ice remained for about 2 1/2 days. It’s surprisingly light weight and easy to maneuver. The only issues I have is that the holders on the side for a beach umbrella and for fishing rods pop off when you accidentally nudge them. Also, the butler tray that stores under the lid is not very secured. It latches on either side, but anytime you shut the cooler lid. The lid falls off into the actual cooler. There needs to be a sturdier way to fasten it to the lid.

Upgrade personal suggestions

I purchased the trail mate journey 70qts. and it is design is extremely beautiful tactical design ITS A BEAST!!! I rate a 4 star for a couple of suggestion if design is being upgraded in a near future, * top gasket from the phone or personal items compartment is too long to fit in place, I verified gaskets from other coolers available at store (clerk had to cut the tight-wrap) and all had the same issue. * At the back side of cooler I suggest to add an actual handle (door knocker) for better carrying. * Top lid needs to have a flap lock to assure enclosure. My personal suggestion Dont forget about me if the design is upgraded!!! ✨🤣🍻 Either or I still love the item!! ✨✊🏽🦾

The cooler itself works good. The attachments for umbrellas are not good… we use this for softball and the umbrella attachments do not have enough for the umbrella. Its cheap plastic with no support. Im trying to manufacture something to make it work. Wish I would have known as thats why I bought the cooler.

First off I was charged for the FREE coffee mug that was supposed to be included. When I received this cooler I was very excited. Then I looked it over. It was clearly overfilled with foam then the excess was scraped off leaving damage. This looks like a factory defect not a new cooler. Very disappointed especially for the price

I have used this product 4 times and it’s awful. I am usually a big igloo fan due to the affordability but this cooler won’t hold ice any more than 4 hours if it’s moderately warm outside and the handle won’t retract anymore after 4 uses. Honestly with it costing 250 dollar and being this bad kind of put a sour taste in my mouth for the brand.

Great cooler and got it on a great sale price. Would not buy if it was full price. There are complaints that the coolers come used. I know mine wasn’t used but it definitely didn’t come in pristine condition either. It had some light scratches, some of the foam for insulation was coming out from the non critical parts, and the wheels looked dirty. I know these coolers are just sitting stacked up in a dirty warehouse and that’s why they come the way they are. This is why I’m giving it only 3 stars
