Imaginext R2-D2 Playset

This imaginex R2-D2 toy is incredibly fun for him. He loves all of the hidden surprises, including the disk launcher and periscope. This toy is fun for the older genereation Start Wars fans as well. My son and his dad spend time together playing with R2D2 and his C3PO buddy.

We're having a blast pretending he's the real R2-D2 and using his internal playset space to help C-3PO load the disc launcher. The elevating periscope is a great feature that didn't need to be added, but provides a lot of silly fun for a little one. The Threepio "key" itself is nice and weighty, and makes a great companion for this Astromech. Product was provided for the purpose of this review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy is perfect for those kids who like Star Wars! My daughter especially likes R2-D2, so I knew I had to get it. She has enjoyed the noises the toy makes and the little disk shooter, and the little metal C-3PO is pretty cute. However, she got bored with it after a little while since that’s all it really does. Regardless, it’s a good size and it looks great on the shelf with her other toys, so I imagine when she’s completely done with it, her dad will take it for his Star Wars collection, lol. Overall, it’s a cool toy.

He is a lot bigger than I was expecting and my son loves the little metal C3-PO that came with him. His lights and sound make for fun interactive play. My son spent hours playing with him right out of the box. I hope they release more characters the size of C3-PO so he can recreate some of his favorite movie scenes.

She was so excited when this arrived. She loves the spinning saw, the shooting disks and the realistic noises. My 9 year old son has always been a big Imaginext and Star Wars fan. He has enjoyed playing with this toy everyday since we received it. He likes that it has wheels on the bottom and can roll in any direction like R2-D2 does in the movies. The metal die cast C3PO is his favorite. My 12 and 14 year old sons have even enjoyed playing with this with their siblings. The details on this toy are amazing. We received this toy for free in exchange for our honest review. We can't wait for more Imaginext Star Wars toys to come out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an R2D2 companion, this was a definite winner in the size category and interactive play. My 6-year-old did get a little confused that it was only half an R2D2 and that it would only roll back and forth. The playability is fine except when it comes to the disc shooter because you're supposed to be behind it. But you have to reach around the front to fire the disc which isn't exactly the easiest for a kid with how big this thing is. As a mom, I genuinely appreciate that there is a spot for the little discs to live.

The sounds and lights are a fun little touch, as well. As a parent, though, I wish there was a bit more for play. It's a great toy to use with others but not super entertaining all on its own. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kids love Star Wars and R2-D2. So, they were super excited to play with R2-D2. R2-D2 does require some assembly. It is pretty straight forward. Just need to attach R2-D2's feet. There are two plastic coins and C3-PO key figure which was surprising heavy duty and feels like it is metal casted. R2-D2 itself is mostly hard plastic. R2-D2 has some fun features. You can roll R2-D2 around as it has wheels. If you turn the C3-PO, R2-D2 saw tool and claw hand will pop out. The claw hand can shot the plastic coins. R2-D2 also talks and has volumn contro (off, low, high). Back of R2-D2 is open. So, you can see how things move. There is two slots for the plastic coins. The C3-PO key figure can fall off easily. Even though you can roll R2-D2 arounds it is not that smooth and can tip. Overall this is a fun and interactive. The kids has a new buddy to hang out with.

The little action figure it comes with is really fun too. It seems super durable and will hold up to tough play. I would highly recommend this toy for all Star Wars lovers!!!

The sound effects are spot one and they toy seems to be very durable and well made. I do wish that it was a full 360 replica and not just the front half. As far as play, there diecast C3PO that deploys R2-D2s defenses work well and a cool touch. The toy is aimed at younger kids and suitable age is 3-8 and main play seems to be sensory. Overall if you have a young or aspiring Jedi in the family it makes a great toy and honestly for an adult collector it would not be out of place on a shelf on display as well

Standing at about 18 inches tall, R2-D2 shoots discs, features iconic pop-out elements, talks, and even rolls around after a quick and easy assembly. My 4-year-old could attach his feet in just 2 seconds. Instead of carrying around action figures or Legos, my kids love rolling around with R2-D2. The Fisher-Price Imaginext R2-D2 is impressively large and has many interactive features. My kid loves turning the C-3PO character key to activate the lights and sounds, revealing a hidden projectile launcher and a pretend saw blade. The hands-on play is fantastic. Rolling the droid along on its wheels, launching projectiles, spinning the pretend blade, and raising the periscope with the elevator on the back. The hardest part has been keeping his younger sisters from stealing the toy. I only wish it included a full back instead of just the front of R2-D2. Overall, it's a beautiful toy for any little Star Wars fan. I highly recommend it!

It has great features like C-3PO being his key that sits on his shoulder to make R2-D2 light up and make sounds. He also has a handle in the back so that you can easily carry him around. The wheels on him are great for rolling him around. He has a scope that you can put up to look through. He has some disc's that can shoot, only thing is they don't shoot automatically, you have to make that. Otherwise a great toy my kids love and they play for hours with this. Adults will love it too! It's cool!

It’s almost 2 feet tall, rolls, and comes with a metal imaginex character that can be used with other sets. We have never seen that before! The toy opens, lights up, and plays music. It is entertaining for the whole family!
