Q: How is the infant ibuprofen different from the children's ibuprofen? Can the children's be given to an infant if the correct dose is calculated?

submitted by Leah - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi Leah - Thanks for asking! The Infant’s Ibuprofen suspension is a much more concentrated dose. The strength of the product is 50mg per 1.25 mL. It is recommended for ages 6 months to 23 months. After 23 months, the Children’s formulation is then used. That product strength is 100 mg per 5 mL. We would recommend discussing the dosing of either product with the child’s pediatrician before administering the children’s product to an infant or vice versa. We're glad you stopped by! - Gao
