After a former arson investigator dies in a house fire, ATF agent Marc Davis is paired up with Bri Tucker to investigate the death of her former colleague. At first glance, the fire appears to be accidental, but as Bri and Marc look further into the case, they discover other recent house fires that have some strange similarities. As sparks begin to fly between the two investigators, the case heats up, and they have to find the mystery arsonist before one of them becomes the next victim.🔥 Irene Hannon has been one of my favorite romantic suspense authors for some time, and I was so excited to read the first book in her newest series! I loved how authentic Bri and Marc felt as characters, and I adored their flirty banter throughout the story. And though I’ve read a plethora of mystery and suspense books over the years, I was truly shocked when the villain was revealed. I cannot wait to read the future stories of Bri’s siblings, Jack and Cara (they already seem so interesting!). If you’re looking for a new suspense book to read this month, I’d highly recommend Into the Fire by Irene Hannon.🧡 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A big thank you to Revell Fiction for sending me a copy of this book! I enjoyed the story of arson investigator Bri Tucker and ATF Special Agent Marc Davis as they worked to solve the mystery of the death of a colleague and the mystery of the cases he had been trying to tie together at the time of his death. This book falls under the category of Christian fiction, but might be better described as clean fiction as the Christian element is light. The story is written is a way that held my attention, the motivation of the killer was more of a puzzle than the identity which was fairly obvious. Typically Irene Hannon writes in more red herrings with regard to the perpetrator, but the puzzle being the motivation worked well for this story. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Into the Fire from Revell without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

“Because for whatever reason, he had a feeling the puzzle of Brianne Tucker wouldn’t be solved as easily as the mystery of this house fire,” Marc considers in Irene Hannon’s novel, Into the Fire. ~ What ~ The first in the Undaunted Courage series, this four-hundred-page paperback targets those interested in romantic suspense involving arson investigations. Using a few slang words, the topics of physical abuse, illness, injury, and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The ending includes an excerpt from another book series, acknowledgments, the author’s biography, and advertisements. In this current-day story based in St. Louis, arson investigator Bri Tucker has returned to her hometown after being injured as a smokejumper. When a former colleague dies from what is deemed as an accidental fire, she works with ATF Special Agent Marc Davis to connect the dots on several individuals’ deaths. Sifting through the ashes of past fires, they establish links that become too close to home. As the two question why Bri is being targeted, they try to tamper down their burning feelings for one another. ~ Why ~ This is an engaging read that covers the ins and outs of investigating arson while learning to move on from one’s heartbreaking past. I enjoyed the multiple narrators that shed light on protective emotions, tragic memories, and broken relationships. The story was progressive as it flamed the fires of intrigue and mystery. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not like reading about fires and the damage and death they can cause might not appreciate this read, but it is not overly gruesome. Those who do not believe in God may pass it up, although it is subdued and understated. Some may tire of the flawless character and attributes of one of the protagonists. ~ Wish ~ Assuming this is a Christian-based book, it would be nice to include the eternal plan of salvation. ~ Want ~ If you like a series that encompasses the flames of murder fueled with trust and romance, this one that deals with forgiveness and mercy will sear your imagination. Thanks to Revell for this complimentary book. I am under no obligation to give a positive review.
Fiery Start to a New Thrilling Series

This first book in a new series by Irene Hannon is a heart-pumping, edge-of-your seat read from the first page to the satisfying conclusion. Bri Tucker is a former smoke jumper turned fire investigator and when one of her former colleagues is killed in a fire, Bri takes on the responsibility of investigating his death as well as others that he was investigating when he died. Assisted by swoonworthy hero and ATF agent Marc Davis, Bri can’t seem to avoid danger. In fact, she seems perfectly content confronting it, much to the consternation of Marc and her siblings Jack and Cara. All of the characters were realistically portrayed and relatable, but none more so than the vulnerable Bri who was hurt in the past and not looking for more pain in her present. The plot moves along at a fast and fiery pace, with head-spinning twists and riveting revelations along the way. There are red herrings and false trails galore, plenty to keep the mystery buff in me totally happy and reading long into the night. I loved the action and suspense, but I was completely enamored with the characters and their willingness to face danger in order to pursue truth and justice. This book is addictive and held me spellbound, so I’m already anticipating the second book in the series! Irene Hannon is a master storyteller who expertly crafted this tale that I would categorize as high-octane thriller and sparkling romance, too.
