Falling apart after little use

I picked a pair these shoes up last year to put in the rotation, I probably wear them twice a month and I just noticed today around the ball of my both of my feet. The soul is separating from the top part of the shoe. Huge disappointment because I don’t think this can be fixed.

Rarely purchase shoes online. Johnston Murphy I read has a good return policy. I needed an every day sharp casual shoe because you walk all the time in the city. This shoe seemed exactly what I needed. The show fit perfectly. The shoe looked better once I saw it. These are comfortable shoes.

Nice, well made shoe but unwearable out of the box. I had blisters on my heals after the first day of wearing them

Shoe is very well made and stylish but they completely chewed up my heels. Maybe they need some serious breaking period but out of the box they’re unwearable. I could barely get through my day.
nice shoe but runs a full size small

This is my second pair of Holden plain toe shoes. I love the shoe, they're very comfortable. So I ordered a second pair, same size 10, just in a different color. The second pair arrived recently and it's noticeably smaller. So much so I couldn't fit my foot into the shoe even though it is marked as the same size my original pair are marked. I did notice on the inside tongue of the shoe, the original pair were manufactured in Vietnam. The second pair was manufactured in India. I am highly disappointed in the quality control displayed by this change in manufacturing sites. Size 10 should be standard across all manufacturing lines, especially if you want to sell online.
Great shoe except for…

Overall, it is a great concept. True to size, good style, good fit. The shoe is lightweight and well constructed. The sole is soft and responsive when walking. Styling is classic J & M. The biggest knock on the shoe? The Top Line above the heel cap is not cushioned and extremely rigid. Since it lacks padding, be cautious during the break in period. After the first day, I got cuts on both heels, where the top line digs into your skin. I have used conditioner, but still breaking them in. I had to use bandaids to keep wearing them. I spent plenty of time in the military hiking with no issues or blister history. These top lines above the heel cap is very rigid. I don’t know why they didn’t add some padding. Break in with caution.

I bought these in gray expecting a combination of business casual style and athletic shoe comfort. They look nice but the color seemed more brown-gray than I expected. Even worse, these shoes were anything but comfortable. I’ve worn them twice and my they chafed the skin off both of my heels. I already threw away the Bo’s they came in but I plan to return them if not too late.

I have several other pairs of JM shoes and Size 13 normally fits perfect. In fact, they are a little larger than most 13’s in other brands. This style in black however runs incredibly small. They rubbed my heel and ankles so much that I had to return them. I recommend the brand but not this style
Good looking shoe but doesn’t hold up

I loved this shoe from the moment I put it on. But u fortunately it did not hold up. The soles started to fall apart from the shoe and I only had them for about a month and half. I’m going to take them to a cobbler to see if they can fix it. But if you do a lot of walking, lifting , pushing as part of your job I would try and find something more durable

Purchased these Dec 22 in tan oiled full grain as a gift. Very nice classic look with the updated white sole. Began wearing them mid January 23. Out of the box, they’re a little difficult to get into but no big deal assuming a little break in. However, I’m noticing they’re already beginning to separate at the sole after 3 weeks of casual office wear. I would post pictures but site doesn’t have that feature. Secondly, the sole material annoyingly squeaks on most tile floor surfaces. Finally, the material seems to make my feet sweat or produce moisture more than other oxfords I’ve had. This is my first pair of JMs and was excited but will not be buying again.

I don't love them, and honestly I don't find them overly comfortable, but maybe that's just me. The oiled tan gets scraped fairly easy too.

I ordered the Holden Plain Toe in 'gray', and when they arrived it was clear that the photos on the website are not accurate. Instead of being a true gray, they're more of a brownish taupe. Not even close to gray. Not the nice, neutral color that I was expecting at all. They're nice shoes, so I guess I'll keep them, but I won't wear them nearly as much as I would have if they were the proper color.

These shoes are fine. They look pretty good. I got the tan oiled and I like them enough, but they scrape easy and start to show it early. You have to be careful. And sadly, they're kind of uncomfortable to me. Not terrible, but enough that I always "can't wait" to get them off 3/4 of the way into the day. It's in the heel, and honestly lots of new shoes bother my heels at first, but it usually goes away pretty quickly with good shoes. And never even happens w/ great shoes sometimes. But I've worn these consistently for a year and they're still uncomfortable. Which is odd, b/c I had a stretch of wearing a lot of J&M early in my career/corporate days, and their calling card was comfort then.

The XC4 in black has the appropriate "in style" sole but then the toe has some cheap looking embossed wingtip effect that ruins the shoe, The Holden Plain Toe upper is fine but the funky brown and gray sole trashes the look. I like J&M shoes fit and quality but can't buy these
Great shoe (gray) what is best to clean the upper leather?

Love the shoes look and comfort. Am concerned about how easily they will get spots on the uppers and how best to clean.

Purchased the grey pair for my 15 year old son who loves them. Great Christmas gift and they look to be great quality. Fit is good and he says he appears an inch taller.
