Q: The nutrition label doesn’t add up. The package is 4 oz. There are 4 servings. A serving size is 2.5 cups? The package is only 4 oz. You’re saying you get 10 cups of popcorn out of a 4 oz package?
submitted by Drmichone - 1 year ago
A: Yes- the Nutritional Label on the Sea Salt and the White Cheddar flavors DO state exactly what the OP is questioning, which doesn’t make sense.
However, the nutritional label on the Kettle Corn flavor states Serving Size: 1 cup & approx. 5 servings in bag.
Caloric value per serving is the same on all bags (which doesn’t make sense for all three either obviously).
First person to reply to OP’s query didn’t bother to view or compare all three nutritional labels before responding.

A: I don't what your looking at but none of what you said is what the nutrition label on the bag says.

A: Popcorn can be measured by weight or volume and as kernels or popped. Sounds like it was kernels in cups and popped in ounces.

Q: Does this popcorn have hulls?
submitted by Steph47 - 1 year ago
A: Like the little seeds? Mostly no, I eat a whole package in one sitting and maybe get a displeasing hard thing like once or twice.

Q: The nutrition label doesn’t add up. The package is 4 oz. There are 4 servings. A serving size is 2.5 cups? The package is only 4 oz. What is the truth? How do you make such a large mistake on your label/packaging?
submitted by Drmichone - 1 year ago
A: Thanks for the question, popcorn labels can definitely look confusing! The bag is 4 oz by weight, but popcorn is super light and airy, so a small weight fills a huge amount of volume. That’s why each serving is listed as 2.5 cups - the FDA requires popcorn serving sizes to be measured by cups (volume) instead of ounces.
So even though the bag only weighs 4 oz, it still adds up to about 10 cups of popcorn, which is completely normal for this category. Nothing was mislabeled, it’s just a funny quirk of how popcorn works!

Q: Nutritional labeling is very confusing/misleading between flavors. Sweet and Salty serving size is is 1 cup, the other flavors are 2.5 and 3 cups. What's going on here?
submitted by CoffeeCrazy - 1 year ago
A: The serving size is based on weight (grams). The cheddar and kettle weigh more per kernel since they have more flavoring added.
The Khloud protein popcorn offers a unique snacking experience with its variety of flavors and added protein benefits. Guests appreciate the light and fluffy texture, especially in flavors like white cheddar and sweet and salty kettle corn. However, some have noted issues with a powdery coating and inconsistent flavor intensity. Overall, it serves as a healthier alternative for those looking to enjoy popcorn while boosting their protein intake, making it a convenient choice for snacking.

It seems to just be popcorn tossed in a heavy amount of protein powder. When you bite into it, the powder coats your tongue, and the actual popcorn has a stale bite to it, not much taste to it either, since the powder texture is overwhelming.

Yuck. Just awful
Really wanted to like these because of the idea of protein popcorn. But the texture was just dreadful. Has some sort of powdery substance over the outside of each kernel and it was just an edible. Neither of my husband nor I could stand it. In the trash it went. (the dogs, however did enjoy a bit of it before it was thrown out.)

Stale and inedible.
This popcorn is stale. When you chew it, it condenses down into a flat disc of hard, unchewable yuck! I had to spit them out.

Protein powder on popcorn?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The popcorn is covered in this white powder like powdered cheese and the flavor itself is really subtle. I felt like my taste buds were confused since it was almost like smartfood but then had that kettle corn taste at the end. I personally feel like if I’m looking for popcorn, this would not be my first choice. If you really need some protein in your diet maybe this would be a good choice for you? But I feel like I’ve had much better packaged popcorn. The actually bag was also only half full which is always disappointing to see- if you’re not going to fill the bag shrink the packaging!!

Good enough to switch from SF
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Modest amount of protein (7g) in something that claims to be protein-forward, but I do appreciate the lower than average (140mg) sodium as compared to the black bag SF, and flavor of this popcorn. It's better than the white cheddar kind.

Good flavor BUT too many hard kernels. I would never buy again because every other piece was hard.

Good alternative to kettle corn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good kettle corn flavor. Has a crunch like real kettle corn. It’s a nice healthy alternative for the normally unhealthy snack, with the only downside being the dusty nature of Khloud popcorn and slight bad after taste.

Not part of a promotion but I would not recommend. It has a bad texture and the taste does not make up for it.

Meh snack
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Khloud sweet and salty is the better of the flavors from the Khloud popcorn snack lines. You do get the sweet and salty flavor. I think the protein comes from the seasoning and whatever seasoning in this is thick and kinda dried out your mouth. Cause of that I personally don’t think I can snack on a bowl full.

Not sure about milk protein concentrate as an ingredient and texture
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an interesting take on popcorn. I am not sure if the addition of milk protein concentrate adds a bit of powdery residue to the popcorn. The sweetness is quite subtle and I don’t get any salty taste. Overall, I like the packaging, the portion size and the intent. But it needs a bit of improvement in taste.

Lack of flavor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very interested to try this popcorn, had such good hopes. If it advertised as sweet and salty I'm going to need more flavor especially the sweet. The popcorn was popped well, nice fluffy kernels. But the thick powder coating made it tough to enjoy.

Yum
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this product for a fair review from influenster. What can I say? This is sweet and salty perfection plus protein from the looks. It's normal popcorn nutrition. Extra protein portion size is well. This can be a bit powdery due to the added protein powder but nothing bad. It tastes amazing. It tastes fresh and something my family will be buying again

As good as it claims
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect sweet addition. Really fresh and tasted great with marshmallow and chocolate chips. The seasoning isn’t overpowering and generally just comes together well.

Tasty
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sweet and salty kettle corn popcorn is pretty good. I don’t think it is very salty though so you may want to add your own salt to it. I’ve tried both this and the white cheddar flavor. Both are tasty but I prefer white cheddar more.

Not quite kettle corn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t love this one as much as the white cheddar but it’s not bad. It’s missing the crunch of kettle corn. Seven grams of protein in a cup is still pretty solid.
