The vacuum itself has a charging cord so you can just plug it in on its own. It does make it a little less of a footprint when chair hung as it can stand upright. So if you are really pressed for space this may be nice to have.

I was very, very pleased with how lightweight they are and actually how lightweight the whole system is truly. The battery can be installed or removed with one hand and the battery clicks and locks in place. The battery has a light indicator telling you when your battery is full and ready to go back to work, I believe I read it take 3 hours, but I feel like it changes on a flash. KitchenAid did a great job designing this whole system I am very impressed and pleased with how easy everything is to use simple push buttons, simple click locking into place I definitely recommend it.

I wish this thing had more of a mount though instead of having to detach the battery. If it had a place where you could leave the battery connected and mount it to the wall, that would be ideal.

The battery comes off very easily for charging and is just as easy to reinstall. Push the power button and you're ready to go. I've used it multiple times now in our kitchen for cleaning up messes.
