Description

Introduce kids to angles, trajectories, and other early physics fundamentals with the Crashapult STEM Challenge from Learning Resources. Now preschool activities such as this hands-on activity set challenges kids to build and complete high-flying obstacle courses designed around core STEM concepts. After setting up their catapults, kids send the launch balls flying off walls, over obstacles, and toward the set’s included hoop target, funnel, or goal cup. Children will have to use their own trial-and-error, engineering, and critical thinking skills to make the adjustments to placement and force necessary to successfully complete the included challenges. Each Crashapult STEM Challenge set comes with a full-color booklet filled with challenges, which increase in difficulty and provide opportunity for leveled play. In addition to challenging young brains, the Crashapult STEM Challenge also teaches lessons in muscle control—the set’s catapult is completely kid-powered, and doesn’t require any batteries, springs, or rubber bands for operation. Set of 13 pieces includes two-piece adjustable catapult, two-piece hoop target, three-piece target funnel, two launch balls, one goal cup, sheet of decorative stickers, and full-color booklet featuring challenges. Ideal learning toy for 5 year olds, 6 year olds+.

    Be careful when assembling

Be careful when you insert the orange funnel into the holder. The grey bracket/arm cracked when my son was assembling it brand new out of the box. Would have given more stars had the piece not cracked when assembling.

    Very entertaining

My students also loved this stem activity. I had the balls being shot all over the place with them trying to figure out more ways to interact with the activity.

    Awesome Challenge

I received this product as part of an incentivized review program. This product challenged the students to think about how they would structure it in order for it to work. I was expecting the materials to be bigger. It comes out to be a small layout. Overall the students enjoyed using it. I would like to see more products like this in the future. I would recommend this product.

Fun STEM Challenge for Variety of Ages

I love the STEM challenge products offered by Learning Resources, and this set is no exception. My favorite aspect of this set is that it coordinates with the Wacky Wheels and Pendulonium Sets. My child is 10 years old, and he definitely loves the added challenge of combining sets. There are a variety of challenges provided in the simple, easy-to-follow instructions. After children have mastered those, they are encouraged to create their own challenges. I LOVE that. The best learning occurs when children can explore and discover on their own, and this set encourages them to do just that. I highly recommend it. I received this toy as a part of an incentivized review program.

    Great STEM product

This was great for my son to play with and try to figure out what angles work and will not work from the concept of the game. It made him think differently. He really enjoyed throwing the balls through the hoop. Great way to introduce stem into his educational learning.

    Fun with physics

This toy is an excellent introduction to physics. As we played, it was apparent that my daughter was slowly beginning to recognize the effects of force, motion and direction --concepts which are otherwise far too confusing to explain in words. The toy requires some simple assembly, clicking a few pieces together and placing stickers on the individual pieces. Nothing complicated. There is a little ball, which is placed on the see-saw catapult. The challenge is to cause the ball to fly or bounce through various hoop-like pieces. For a young kid, it is fun just to cause the ball to fly at varying distances and directions. Well made with bright colors, this toy is a creative approach to a complex topic. I received this product as part of an incentivized review program.

    Science and fun

This is a good activity to play with my son because it's teaches STEM concepts in a fun way. It reminds me of flicking paper footballs in grade school and I thought it be an easy way to feel confident that our playtime was educational also. We have fun setting up our own challenges with the set. The set is very durable and made well.

Soooo many activities! Options are endless

We decided yo put this together one cold weekend afternoon for something to do as a family. My two fourteen year olds and my four year old and I played with it for several hours. It was easy to put together, seems very durable and every one enjoyed it. I like that it came with two balls since my four year old has a hard time sharing so she just kept one and we played with the other one. Love that they are able to learn through play without even realizing it! Would recommend this engaging toy for a wide range of kids and adults.

    Fun Product

This product is well made. And was packaged well. It came with all of the pieces in the box and stickers that needed to be applied. It only took a few minutes to get all of the stickers in place. My six year old daughter had fun with this product. I love that it is something educational for her to play with. It involves thinking and problem solving. It also works on motor skills with the catapult. I did mark it down one star only because my daughter does not play with it often. She sees it as a game, but does not enjoy it as much as other games she has. I still think it is a great educational product. And I love having it for anytime she is in the mood to play with it. I received this product as part of an incentive review program.
