Great for inquisitive little ones
There's 3 parts so it is easy to track, microscope works, and is hardy to toddler play.

Great for Science Center
I like how the scope can be removed, but it falls off too easily. Otherwise, my students love being scientists with this!

Great way to spark curiosity
My 3.5 year old was excited to start using her new view scope. It is basic, sturdy and simple to remove view scope for additional usage. My daughter had some initial difficulty understanding how to get things in focus. This needs to be used in room with great lighting or outdoors as there is no light source in the view scope making it difficult to see things in poor lighting. All in all, I think it is a great first microscope for young children and I think my daughter's curiosity and enjoyment will improve once she gets the hang of it.

My Children Love It!
There's no doubt about it, Science is one of my favorite subjects in our Homeschooling! There's just something exciting about teaching my children how things work and encouraging them to examine the wonders of nature around us. Lately my son age 3 1/2 and my 5 year old daughter are learning that they can see a lot with naked eye but that there's nothing quite like having an ever closer look! I firmly believe that every budding scientist needs a few tools of the trade to deepen their interest. So when I had discovered Learning Resources released a kid-friendly ViewScope during their 2014 product line, I was thrilled to add it to our science tools collection! The Learning Resources Primary Science ViewScope is quite child friendly and very appealing in colors of green, blue, and yellow perfect for boys or girls. If you are wanting a my first magnifying scope, this is a good pick for children around 3-5 years old, in my opinion. The scope offers 20x magnification and generous sized knob to zoom in and out. If you turn the knob farther than it is made to go, it emits a clicking sound and though you keep turning it doesn't break the viewer! The clear specimen container that comes with the scope has a lid and on the bottom of the container are three little air holes. There is also an indented circle on the middle of the container so you can line things up with the view scope to see. This container is great and allows for ideal viewing all sorts of things, even bugs thanks to the air holes! A neat feature that both my kids liked is that the viewer is completely detachable from the base. This allows so many possibilities when exploring outside! If the scope is attached to the base, you simple squeeze both sides on locking device and it comes off with no trouble and you can reattach is just as easily. Both my children have taken the detached viewer outside and got up close visuals of leaves, grass, flowers, seeds, and much more. Also note that it works best magnifying outside things that are free from moving this way and that to get a clear visual. When viewing anything, you'll need to make sure you are in a very well lit area to get the most out of the viewing experience. I am pleased to say with much handling of my son that it has held up well with much use. It's quite sturdy and durable and that's a big win for me! My children both like using the Learning Resources Primary Science ViewScope quite a bit. We plan on taking the scope along with us on our vacation to the beach and our hikes in the woods to see what we can see besides our nearly everyday use! Overall this a fantastic starter ViewScope. It's learning possibilities ensure a well of curiosity satisfied. A deeper study of the world around them may even prompt a future in the career of science, nature, or to become an explorer. Sometimes it's the little steps in the right direction that have an even deeper impact than we can currently see.

Great for teaching little kids science!
Thank you Learning Resources for providing me with a ViewScope, free of charge, for review on my blog, Ahh~Mazing Reviews. These are my own honest opinions. Learning Resources is one of my favorite places to get educational toys for my son. Their toys are fun, educational, sturdy, and durable. We have not had a single toy from Learning Resources break, even though my son can be rather destructive. Davey has so much fun with his toys from Learning Resources, and learns a lot while playing with them! Learning Resources recently sent me their Primary Science ViewScope for review. This ViewScope is like a microscope made just for kids. It includes a clear case for viewing specimens, so you could even put bugs in the case so your kids can see the bugs up close and personal. The viewer detaches for on-the-go discoveries, or attaches to a stand. The ViewScope focuses well with an easy to turn knob that my son can manage easily on his own. My son has had so much fun looking at plants and other small items with his ViewScope! I can see this as a great teaching tool for a few years to come, until he is ready for a real microscope. It is quite durable and has held up well even though my son has been a little rough with it, but I've come to expect that with Learning Resources' toys.
