Learning Resources Spike The Fine Motor Hedgehog Pink

My daughter loves sorting the quills by color, counting, and making different patterns on the hedgehog's back. She is 2 and a half and I was worried she wouldn't find it interesting, but I feel like she's the perfect age for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My two small ones love playing with this. It's colorful and the parts aren't dangerous if they poke themselves with it or drop it on the ground. It is helpful to teach them counting and fine motor skills.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is going to be three in 2 weeks. she did play with it for a few days but then she was just playing with the sticks. not putting them into the hedgehog. So to me it seemed like she got bored with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were given spike in exchange for an honest review, and immediately upon opening spike my son took an interest, he was quickly able to figure out how to hold the spikes and how to put them into the hedgehog, And as he's played with it more and more each day he's getting better at the fine motor skills necessary to properly place the spikes! I was actually surprised at how much he loved it, It keeps his interest, I feel part of that is that it's not too difficult for him so he doesn't get frustrated and give up.. it's the perfect amount of challenge to make it fun for him, And it gives him a sense of accomplishment when he gets all of the spikes in! He even carries around the house It's so cute 😆 It says 18 months and up, My son is 15 months old and he loves it! He's not quite ready for the more challenging aspects of it such as color coordinating and number placements.. But it's awesome it gives him a chance to grow into it!

The bright colors immediately caught his attention, and while he's a bit too young for the suggested learning activities, he had a great time just putting the quills in and taking them out. It's a great way to build fine motor skills and keep him engaged. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the quills are made of very thin, hollow plastic, and my son was able to bend them easily. A sturdier design would make this toy perfect.

My 11 month granddaughter loved this toy. It's great quality, the pegs store inside the body (love that!) We gave it to her for Christmas and this will be one of her favorite toys!

Good for teaching numbers and colours as well as helping with motor skills

Love the colours and my daughter spends ages putting the spines in and taking them out. It's been a great learning opportunity about hedgehogs too.
