Me and my husband really enjoyed it. Decent quality that you would expect from lego being the well known brand. Does have small pieces so like we found, I wouldn't recommend giving to any child younger than 7 or 8

It's got a lot of cool features like the working crane and the crusher, which my kids are going to love. The detailed description about salvaging parts and the '80s cars is really appealing, and it seems like there's a lot to do with the set. I appreciate that it comes with printed and 3D instructions, which should make building easier. Definitely looking forward to seeing my kids' creativity spark with this one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very detailed set. There is everything from office supplies to tools and even an adorable shop dog with a dog bowl. My 6 yr old son was able to complete this set with minimal help using the Lego building app. He was able to navigate the app easily. It was fun to build but is also fun to play with, with so many things to interact with for imaginative play.

The set looks fantastic, building the set was a fun challenge but the playability is poor. The first big issue is the crane, which is way to hard to operate, pieces easily break off when manoeuvering the crane when lifting, even the whole set lifts from the ground if you dont hold it down. The moving part in the container is fun, but the mechanism could easily be made smaller, there are gaps in the container which small pieces can be trapped and even break the mechanism. The door and the curtain on the container also breaks off easily. There is a tire rack, but no spare tires, its hard work for a kid to take the tires of the rim once assembled. Both spare rims and tires should have been included. The cars are similar to the ones on set 60408 Car Transporter with detachable front and rear, but the wheelbase and wheels are different so you cant mix and match these sets. Scrap yard cars dont fit the transporter as well as they should, and the smaller cars on the transporter do not sit tight on the crane or the lift, its a missed opportunity to not make these sets more similar. Overall, this set is very flimsy and parts break of very easily. It looks cool though .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lego set 60472 scrapyard. Another great lego play set, that any fan will love. The set comes in a massive colourful box, showing you a picture of the completed models on the front and back. You get to make a scrapyard with claw crane, crusher,office building and 2 cars. It even includes 4 mini figures. Great attention to detail with loads of little accessory pieces to bring it all to life including computer, tools, drill, wrenches and hammer. Inside everything is contained in bags, you can locate each piece easily and follow each part in the correct order. The instruction manual is well illustrated, with clear images that are easy to understand and follow, with each piece being recognisable. The set contains 871 pieces. So not just a quick make and then hours of play after. A fun set to play, lifting and fixing the cars, taking them apart to go into the crusher. Theres nothing to dislike about the set. Perfect addition for the lego fan. Brilliant quality as expected.

My 9 year old granddaughter loves building lego with her grandad so they have absolutely loved working on this project together ( age wise she could have built it on her own). The lego set comes in numbered bags for easy assembling and following the easy to read instructions in the numbered books. Each aspect of the build has its own instruction booklet meaning you can build a part each. The materials are great and durable can be rebuilt again and again. The cars are customisable and the claw crane is multi directional for lifting and loading you can hoist the car toys into the crusher and press a lever to transform them into scrap cubes. It also comes with an office building and 4 scrapyard crew minifigures along with tools for role play. Hours of fun not only building but playing with this lego set. AD/GIFTED.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took this in to my class and used it with my lego therapy, the kids have said how much they have enjoyed all the different parts to put together and how it's a good quality material that it doesn't fall apart easily like other lego imitations have done in the past. They said it comes with good instructions and is easy to follow and assemble.

My 10 year old son says that is an amazing lego set. However he wants to know why you used 8 plastic bags! Why are you still using them instead of paper? There was just one paper envelope in the set. He does, however, really love his finished set :)

The materials are great and they have step by step building instructions .. it's very durable and can be rebuilt hundreds of times over. My son found it safe to use he's 9 years old. My son told me to tell you that it's a 5* item and he loves it

When my son built it, it looked awesome i wish I had sets like this when I was young. He really enjoys playing with it and was happy when it arrived.
