[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My overall experience with the Lionel Barbie Malibu Train set has been nothing but positive! To begin, it was packaged well, with care, and was very organized. The train track was all rubber banded together and it made set-up easy and not so overwhelming. It was easy to set-up and is well worth the money. I love the Barbie details in the train and so did my daughter. It also has a smoke effect which my daughter thought was so cool! This would make a perfect gift for any girl who is 4+ and I also love it! All aboard!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This train set came packaged very nicely and is super cute however it does not work very well.. the colors are vibrant, great details in adding the different Barbie’s on the cars. There are a good amount of track pieces that can be set up different ways but the instructions on how to set up the whole track aren’t very clear, just shows a picture really. The train is quite loud and takes 9 batteries! Our train was hard to get on the tracks and kept derailing or getting stuck. Out of the 50 times we tried we were only able to make it around the tracks once and that was only when we took all the other cars off and had the remote on full forward power. There is a reverse option on the remote as well. The train has a loud beeping noise it does when it’s on and sitting there. The tracks are pretty flimsy and this makes it tricky to stay together. There is a steam accessory on the train, which is cute and mine worked good. Overall this product is very cute but not useable, especially for a younger kid. This would be a good product for collectors who don’t want to use the product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kids loved it! Even my nephews thought it was cool. They sat there for hours making new tracks and playing with the electronic train. The train actually has smoke coming out the front with just water so no special things you have to buy. I wish the middle one that lights up would show you were the button was because it took a few minutes to find it haha. I will definitely be putting this train under my Christmas tree next year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Influenster and Lionel Trains in exchange for my honest review. This is such a fun train to assemble with the kids! We were a little confused on how to assemble the tracks but once we got the hang of it, it quickly went into place. You can control the speed of the train as well as little noises from the train with the control. You can add some water and it will create some "steam" from the top of the train.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t know how much fun my daughter would have with a train set. She asks several times a week if we can play with the Barbie train. It’s easy to set up and get going. The only issue that I’ve found is that at times the train can get stuck especially if you have all the cars on and just set up in a circle. But if you have the oval and just a few of the cars, you wont have a problem. I suspect if you modify the wheels a bit or make the locomotive heavier, that should help. This definitely would make a great Christmas present for the Barbie lover in your family. It even has fake steam.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lionel Barbie train set comes packaged nice and cute. I was extremely disappointed with the directions that came with the train set. I had a hard time at first with trying to figure out how to set it all up but figured it out soon enough. I think they could have done a better job with the directions. I also was extremely disappointed with the how flimsy the track was and I feel the track pieces will break if not handled very carefully. I do like how versatile the track is. You can make a few different track styles which is awesome. I love that the train is electric and that it moves forward or backwards and I love that it has sounds. The train was lightweight and moved smoothly which I liked a lot. I also enjoyed the water vapor smoke effect and my kids did as well. My daughter loved this train track set which made me love it.

I love the color and the sounds but it runs very poorly. Since it only has one powered wheel, sometimes the engine slips so it often needs a nudge to keep moving. This is very disappointing as the other new Lionel battery o gauge sets (Thomas and Christmas General) run so much better. It has a traction tire for two wheels but only one is powered. It barely makes it around the track without slipping. I’m curious to know how the one in the ad video above runs so well because that’s certainly not how mine runs. I hope they make it with two powered wheel sets instead of one for future sets. Until that change is made, I’d steer clear of this set. Either way, with some tweaking from Lionel, these sets have the potential for the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to receive the Lionel Trains Barbie Beach House O Gauge Battery Train Set. This product is extremely nice and feels very sturdy and well made with high quality materials. It comes with 4 train car pieces, 1 handheld remote, 1 water dropper, and 31 pieces of track that when put together makes a 65” x 41” oval. From the remote you can control the train which can go in forward as well as reverse. You can also press a button to control the sounds of the train and you can add water for the water vapor smoke effect. The front of the train also has a small light on it that actually lights up. The tracks were somewhat easy to assemble and it doesn’t take long to get the train up and running. The only real downside to this product is the amount of batteries needed for it, which aren’t included. Both the train itself as well as the handheld remote need batteries. You’ll need a total of 4 AA and 5 AAA. Overall it’s a great product that any child would be extremely excited to have and play with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to playing with this Barbie Malibu express and really had high expectations due to the price tag and because of how beautiful it looked. I was unfortunately let down. The train continued to fall apart, due to this, it felt like a cheaply made toy. The toy did not come with batteries or tools for initial assembly. I strongly believe that if you have a toy that requires so many screws to come on and off you should include a small tool set specifically designed to fit these screw size. The rail tracks also kept coming apart. I guess if you are only going to use this as decoration, it would perfect. Its colors are so vivid and beautiful! It could make an excellent decoration for a Barbie themed room or under a Barbie themed Christmas tree.

The train has some weight to it and was easy to put together. It does need both aaa and aa batteries. There is even steam and lights. My daughter loves it, and it has the barbie theme.
