Q: Do these require a toddler twin mattress or a regular size twin mattress?
submitted by SaraMPBV - 1 year ago
A: Hello,
The Twin over Twin Bunk Bed for Kids, Low Solid Wood Bunk Beds with Ladder for Small Room does use a standard twin size mattress. For raised beds, we suggest selecting a low-profile mattress between 5" and 8" thick to ensure the safety rail height is optimized.

This bunk bed is a popular choice among guests for its solid construction and ease of assembly, making it a great option for families looking to maximize space in smaller rooms. Many guests appreciate the sturdy design and the beautiful finish, which adds a stylish touch to children's bedrooms. However, some concerns have been raised about the wood's softness and the stability of certain components, which may require attention over time.

Solid construction! My husband and I have assembled many pieces of furniture and this bed was the only piece where all pre-drilled where perfect and everything lined up as it was supposed to! Absolutely no issues with assembly…. 100% recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has a very strong chemical smell. It is not suitable for children to sleep in. I am returning but have not yet heard from Max and Lily - they seem to be extremely slow at responding and hard to reach. Overall a pretty poor experience, very unimpressive.

Well made, but soft wood
This bunkbed assembled smoothly (took us a couple of hours) and I love that they include slats for the lower bunk to help provide healthy airflow under both mattresses. However, the slats are pretty far apart and are uncomfortable for the thin 5" mattress that they recommend. We're asking for more slats. Also, the pine wood is quite soft. Three weeks into using it, there are already quite a few scratches and indents. My fingernail can make an immediate impression in the wood.

Solid bed, ladder hooks break
I do love this bed, it just comes with a “but”. It’s beautiful, sturdy, and strong. I feel comfortable and safe laying down on the top bunk with my kid, and together, we are over 300lbs (plus mattress and stuffies). I wouldn’t say it was easy to build, nor was it exceptionally difficult. HOWEVER. The ladder hooks that attach the ladder to the bed are subpar. They started bending within weeks. After a couple months, one of the screws snapped off. Then the other one snapped off (I mean, the screw broke in half, with half the screw still in the wood). Max and Lily sent me replacement hooks with ONE screw for the broken one (not a full set of new screws for the hardware). However, it’s going to take more than that, given that the snapped off screws are still in the wood where the new ones would go. I’m debating whether I use a hole drill to core out the screws, repair the holes with dowels, and then install the hooks, or geryrig a different way of attaching the ladder to the bed.

Would not purchase again
2 reasons I wouldn’t purchase this bed again: 1) It’s wobbly. No matter how much I tighten it, when climbing onto the top bunk or moving around up there, it still wobbles much more than I am comfortable with. 2) The natural color is much more yellow than I expected.

cute
this arrived quickly! I was skeptical at first never hearing of this company before but there was no issues for us. My husband and oldest daughter were able to put it together in about an hour. every peice was there and arrived as pictured. planning for this to be our 2 under 2 toddlers beds for a hand full of years to come! the only thing I'd mention is it seems like sales happen a lot more often than I thought, initially I rushed a little, worried I'd miss the sale but it always seem to be. it's a great price for the quality, reminding me of ikea but better.
