The packaging of the lamps is ingeneous. I couldn't believe there were two lamps in such a small box. The lamp shades are wrapped around the inner styrofoam packaging and have to be assembled which is very easy. The only drawback is the size of the lampshade "harp". The harp they provide is 8". The lamp has a 3-way bulb socket and the LED 3-way bulb is too large for the provided harp. The top of the fixture, where the finial screws in, was right up against the top of the bulb - and actually was pushing the bulb down interfering with the bulb function. I had to buy 10" harps (they don't make 9" ones") at about $8 each in order to have enough clearance above the bulb. Perhaps there are shorter 3-way bulbs available but the only ones I could find were the same size.
