Biggest disappointment!
Cushion went flat in 3 DAYS! I didn't sit on it more than few hours/day off and on, and I weigh 130lb. I started feel hardwood and no support in 3 DAYS but it was still usable, so I kept it. But then, sweival failed in 3 weeks. Bearing balls started to come out, 2 sweival plates separated and I threw away in the trash within a month from opening the box. UNREAL!! I was thinking of purchasing sweival and replace it by myself, BUT cushion was flat already, so just threw away. No more headache. Absolute disappointment : (

Would have given 5 stars but directions are lousy to put it mildly!!!
It's a shame because this stool is absolutely beautiful, I got the dark chocolate brown pleather cushion, the wood is dark which matches my hardwood floor. It's heavy duty, feels really sturdy and overall it looks like it cost way more but even so 65 dollars is not cheap for a stool. Now my complaint is the directions and the complications I encountered trying to put this stool together. I couldn't screw the screws all the way in to avoid splitting the wood. Was very hard using the L shape screw driver thing. Anyway, after a few hours I finally got it all together but couldn't figure out how to put on the cushion. There's absolutely nothing as far as instructions....the metal plate doesn't move it's just really frustrating to have a stool I can't sit on because I can't figure out how to put on the cushion. I found a video on youtube with this stool with someone who looked Asian, so I was so happy because it says on the paper that it's made in Vietnam. The guy had a method of putting the legs on that I wished I would have seen before I struggled for hours to get them on correctly. Problem was, his video ended with him putting on the legs and he left the cushion off. Go figure.

Faith, We are sorry to hear you had an issue with the assembly of the Maya Swivel Counter Stool. Let me see if I can assist you. The cushion assembly is in step 3 of the instructions. You will need bolt (B), spring washer (C) and flat washer (D). Turn the stool upside down on top of the cushion. You have to rotate the swivel from a square into a star shaped orientation to attach the seat cushion. Then line up the holes and bolt the two pieces together with D against the metal plate, C against the bolt. Also, if you are screwing in the bolts to the point that it is splitting the wood, that is too tight. There is a important section instructing to not tighten bolts until all are completely lined up and inserted, as well as to not over tighten as that causes stripping and splitting the wood.

Returning them. I purchased two of these and the first issue is the top of the legs don’t actually fit in the slots designated for them. Perhaps it is designed for the top of the legs to stick out a bit, but there is no way to screw them flush and there is no stopper, so if you keep attempting to screw the leg in, the wood that it sits between starts to split. The second issue is that the holes in the bottom of the seat are not centered. Therefore the seat “hangs off” on one side of the stool whereas on the other side, you can see the base below it. I also purchased a completely different style, from a completely different store, but by the same brand and had similar issues. I think Linon is just poorly made furniture and I won’t be purchasing from them again.

Solid counter stools at a great price
Super happy with this purchase! We bought two, and they arrived quickly in well packed boxes including all parts. We like the simple, clean lines of these stools plus they seem well made. I thought they were easy to assemble, and based on other suggestions, I went ahead and added wood glue to the joints to give added strength. I don't really think they will need it, but my husband is a contractor who thought it is was a good added step . We have purchased more expensive stools in the past, and feel that we got a great deal with this pair.

Maya 24" Linon Swivel Counter Stools - White
These stools are exactly what I was looking for to go with my table and chairs. You do have to be very careful when assembling them, though or you will crack the wood if you tighten them too tightly. Do the legs a little at a time and don't over tighten. I helped my husband and it didn't take that long to assemble them. It's easier to take the labeled stickers off first and use I used a small amount of Old English on a rag to get the sticky off the wood. We also used the Old English on the wood where the legs slide into the main top sections of the stools since some fit tight. It was worth the savings to put these together and I'm pleased with the results. Add your own felt guards on the bottom to protect your floors as theirs don't last.

We chose this stool because it looked nice in the picture. The directions were pretty simple with pictures, but there were no extra screws to replace one that was faulty and couldn't fit where it should have gone. We tried contacting the company & never heard back. Actually, seeing the pieces up close made this seem more like 3rd world furniture, not anything like "real" furniture one sees anywhere else. The cushion was already worn out in a week. Probably very cheap foam. It's stapled on so well, that it would be hard to change it. But I have sciatica, and needed this stool in the kitchen anyway.
