Worst packaging ever!!

6 ounce container is a fail. Top does not seal. I have ruined a big pot of fresh green beans with a pound of bacon and onions. Should have learned my lesson when about 1/2 the container went in the bean pot. Tonight I was scrambling a couple of eggs for supper and it happened again. Will have to go to plan b for supper tonight. The container of pepper will go in the trash and as long as your pepper has the white plastic top that doesn't seal I will purchase some other brand
Love the product...hate the container

Entire top lid comes open during use and pepper comes out in a pile. Ruined several diners. You're welcome to have thos one back in exchange for one that actually works.

My family has ben life long customers of this brand but in the last year this flimsy pepper container has ruined my cooking plans too many times! I have resorted to taping down the top . I love the pepper but I'll change brands if it's the only way to avoid this container…..

I'd Like to Rate This as Zero Stars because I can't get the lid off; because there are no instructions on the tin or on McCormick's website AND because there's no SEARCH button, no way to ask a question. In order to post this, I'll have to give mt email address so McCormick can sell it to millions of businesses all over the world. More junk mail. I'll return the pepper to the store and buy a different brand.
Coarse ground pepper shaker redesign is bad!

I've been buying McCormick coarse ground pepper for years. The new shaker containers have huge holes, meaning entirely too much pepper pours out of the holes! The latest two I've purchased are the same. I've had to actually tape over some of the holes to be able to dispense at all. Unfortunately I had already thrown out previous container w smaller holes. I have no idea how this passed quality control or any focus group testing.

everyone I know used to be McCormick pepper diehards back in the metal tin days, but are now furious over the plastic packaging lid fails and the lackluster response from management to the hundreds of complaints. It is nearly impossible to open the shaker portion of the lid without the main lid opening up as well . . . resulting in pepper EVERYWHERE and ruined meals. Quit procrastinating and pushing your customers away - fix the lid problem!
New plastic container is horrible

I bought the large black pepper last month and since have lost over half to bad packaging. The new plastic container busts open and spills pepper on everything. The lid will not stay closed and Ive had to restart several recipes due to the container dumping pepper everywhere and having to start over because of it. Please go back to the metal containers because this is ridiculous.

Please change the packaging to have a better sealed top. Every time I begin to season my food I continuously have to close the large opening before beginning. Unluckily for me, this last time, while I was seasoning, the entire jar dropped into my dish. What a pain.

I can't imagine who's idea it was to use this new style of plastic flip top lids. I had to put a rubber band around the black pepper canister to keep it closed. I finished up my black pepper and will not be buying this style ever again.

I do not like the new flip top lids. I have had several incidents of dumping pepper because the total lid comes open when you lift the shaker lid or pour lid. This has occurred when I was very careful that the full lid was closed when I opened the shaker.
after a year the packing still sucks

a year a go I bought a 6oz black pepper, in using it I found the top easily popped open, and spilled huge mounds of paper every where. I went on your site to complain only to find hundreds of similar results. with McCormick responses that packaging was being addressed recently I bought another, only to find the problem still exists, and is even worse, an still I find a half hearted Response we're working on packaging

I will never buy this product again. I have always used the McCormick brand black pepper, but ever since they changed the packaging, I dump half the container into my food. It just opens completely when you squeeze the container. I'm tired of ruining whole pots of soup, eggs, and making a total mess. I'M DONE with mccormicks.

We really don't like the recent design lid for the pepper. When we are trying to open one side (sprinkle or tsp. measure), the whole lid opens and pepper goes all over. Please go back to the old design. It worked well. Sometimes new does not necessarily mean improved.

I have had meals ruined by the lid popping open and dumping a huge pile of pepper on my prepared meals. Not to mention wasting all the pepper after I try to scoop it out. Not sure why you switched to a plastic container but it sucks!!!!!!!!! No longer a loyal customer (over 40 years).
Awful packaging - pepper either nowhere or everywhere

The "shaker" side of the lid is impossible to use. If you actually shake it, like I used to with the old metal package, you get a pepper avalanche... gobs in one spot. If I just gently tap on the package to not get big globs of pepper, but then I get almost none. The problem is not just the lid. The whole package is too soft-sided. Go back to your old metal package or I'm not buying any more McCormick pepper.

For the 6oz container, it is BPA free & it makes the pepper taste funny & the lid is too loose.
