Very easy to use and little girl loves it. I really wish they would have added an auto shut off though.

I cannot get this to work for my son at all. Brand new batteries, and it still will not work.

Well, I thought maybe improvements had been made to the bug flashlight or I would get lucky, but no, won't turn on consistently. Not good for a 4yr old scared of the dark.

I bought this for my granddaughter awhile ago and had put it away. She’s almost 2 and we were having our first sleepover so I figured it would be the perfect time to pull it out. Well it doesn’t work! The on off switch just slides and sticks. She cried but we used a regular flashlight and she was happy. We usually love your toys but did not love this one. Cheap!

Really wanted to love this but sadly misses the mark. Got 2 for my twins and neither lasted a week. The problem is just poor quality which was surprising from this brand. (One light had a coil spring break loose inside and the other one’s button got stuck. Both from normal kid play within a few uses.) I found a better light in the “light my way” nightlight by a brand that rhymes with bunchkin. It’s a one-button, cool-touch, soft-glow light that’s stood the test of time and even has a timer so it always shuts off on its own if left on.

I bought this flashlight for my 2 year old granddaughter. It does NOT turn on. I have tried 3 sets of batteries and extending the spring but nothing works. Is it possible the spring is suppose to attach? My spring was loose inside lens cap when received.

Doesn’t work. My son was so excited when he opened it, but when we put batteries in, it didn’t work. Reading the reviews now, it seems to be a very common problem with this item. We have a lot of Melissa & Doug items we love; not so much this. I’ll have to pick a different brand flashlight as now that I’ve read the reviews I don’t want to just replace it with another defective one.

Got this flashlight as a gift from my daughters daycare and it doesn't even work. She is 2 years old and was looking forward to using it. I have tried 3 different brands of batteries and nothing is working.

Shame on me for not reading the reviews. Just got this for my daughter’s birthday and it won’t even turn on. This seems to be a common problem with this flashlight, so I would avoid!

Excellent flashlight. The batteries lasted for years, Even after left on for days. Kind of a weird running joke in her family. To change the batteries, look for this small screw in the side of the lens ring. Unscrew that, then push in the plastic safety tab and the body of the flashlight. Unscrew lens cap. Replace batteries (two AAs), then I recommend you stretch the spring a little bit to esure proper tension/contact. Switch the flashlight into the on position prior to reassembly, then twist the lens bring back on until it is snug and you see light coming from the flashlight. If you over torque it, it may not illuminate, or may flicker. Find the sweet spot where the light is stable without flickering, then reinsert the screw and tighten it. I hope this is helpful.

The batteries don’t stay in place, so if you jostle the flashlight at all the connection is lost and the light doesn’t work. So you have to take off the top and adjust the batteries back into their little connection spot. So dumb. It’s used by kids so obviously it should be more sturdy than that.

bought for my 2yo son, and his cousins (1, & almost 4). So disappointed they didn't work. Such a shame bc they are so cute. :(

I've bought 2 of these. The first didn't work at all, the second one, the button gets stuck and it won't turn off. It's so cheaply made that it's honestly not worth the money. I am annoyed by how poorly made this product is considering the brand has consistently put out quality products.

We are about to go camping and decided to change batteries to ensure it doesn't die. Unfortunately after unscrewing replacing batteries It doesn't come on now at all. Very frustrating. Changing batteries shouldn't be this difficult. I wouldn't purchase again and is a shame since it's a perfect and adorable kids flashlight.

It's cute. Bought for a birthday gift and has not yet been given.

love this flashlight! got it as a christmas gift for my 1.5 year old, perfect for his little hands. a great gift for the outdoor kiddo!

It was a bit big for my grandson who is two, but he was very interested and will grow into it.

Precious looking design and colorful; however, putting batteries in a total nightmare. Had my contractor finally help me and not good design in you are in a hurry. Other than that, kid loves it.
