Q: Are the compartments wide/large enough to hold remote controls?

A: Hi av - That might be a practical use for this mesh holder, depending on the size of your remotes. The dimensions are just under 4" W x 4" D, making one side roughly 4" x 2" and the other compartments 2" x 2". I hope this helps. Thanks! - Philip

This pencil/pen holder holds far more than just that. It fits every writing utensil I need on my desk and then some. I wouldn't mind if the back slot was divided into two as well but that's just being picky at this point. It's also small enough to not take up too much space!
