This pairs *very* well with the MXTA26 antenna, and I recommend that as well! I use it with a Wouxun KG1000G+ GMRS radio, but this will work with many mobile GMRS radios.

The Kit MXT500 MAG NMO mount is of less quality than the single purchase Mag Mount. I had to buy this one, the PL253 connection is much better than the MXT5500 kit mag mount. Would like schematic on this mount. Otherwise I am very happy with the MXT500 kit and the ease of operation as a novice. The firmware pro gaming was a bit of a chore, Com ports, and all that stuff. Good job Midland……Wideband !!

i like that cable is heavy duty, and the magnet is super strong and glad it came with a rubber cover so that it doesn't scratch up your paint.

Magnet is super strong and cable is long enough for most applications. I would have preferred a removable connection at the end of it so it is easier to run it through the firewall. Other Midland products have that.

Nice to purchase something that looks good, works properly and requires no extra work or setup to use. I haven't run fast enough to blow it off (held fine at 85) but I have hit branches in the woods that have flexed the spring loaded antenna horizontal on the roof with no movement or dislodging of the mount. Better than all my old CB mag mounts from other companies.
