Happy Recipient
My teenage grandson enjoys making machines that do something. This was a birthday give for him; he opened it immediately to work on it.

Low quality
I was very disapionted with this toy. This product has terrible quality and pieces break too easily, the parts do not function correctly even with the wax, and it was very rage inducing to build.

Poor quality
This was a birthday gift for my 6 year-old son. He actually loved assembling it (with adult help). It would be a fun and education toy if it worked as designed. Unfortunately, the pieces are very fragile. A part of a small gear broke off when we were turning the crank. Some of the supports for the ramps broke too, and the ramps do not line up properly causing the balls to fall off. Tiny connector pegs snapped frequently, but at least there are plenty of spare pegs. Great design, poor quality!

Save your money don't buy this
Fun idea, but it just doesn't work. My son spent a lot of hours and put it all together but it malfunctions at four different places throughout the circuit. We were disappointed.

Mechanics bind up
It was fun to watch my son build this but once complete the marble ladder would bind almost every rotation. I sanded the surfaces of the cams smoother and it helped a little but not completely. Nice idea but not for wooden punch out pieces.

Very fragile
This is very fragile, and my 11-year-old son, who is quite skilled at putting together models and other kits, broke several pieces on Christmas morning. It was a shame because this was a gift from the "big guy from up North" and probably one of the last gifts, due to his age. A real let down. I need to figure out how to get replacement parts so he can at least complete it.

Clever but impractical. Dexterity challenge, ending in disappointment.
Clever design, yet unworkable in present size and materials. Material too soft for a project requiring precision alignment. Coaster is too small for the wood supplied. Took five hours assembling. Inclination issues setting o, q and t "chutes" so balls would continue rolling. Seven "rising boxes" jammed frequently. Balls fell off coaster once they reached the top box. Overall, too rickety.

Fun to put together but does not work well.
I liked the puzzle part of putting this gearjit together. The problems I had was that one piece that held up three other pieces broke into 50 pieces when I tried to gently push it into place and the gear for the 'steppe' does not touch the other gear unless I push it. I also bought the train but not put it together yet.

Fun Building and Playing Activity
This was ordered for an 8yr old. Part of the fun of this is putting it together. 8yr-old put it together with help from an adult. Pieces are small and as another customer mentioned, it takes tweaking to get it running correctly, and glue to ensure it stays together. It seems rather fragile, which is probably why it's rated for older children. Not a toy that you can be rough with. It has a crank to keep the marbles moving, and can be a calming activity to watch/play.

Horrendous quality
This is extremely low quality. Some of the wooden pieces are absolutely minuscule and snap in half very easily. Half the pieces don't firmly fit together, even with Krazy glue. The ramps for the marbles don't line up and constantly fall off, the gears don't move smoothly (despite abundant amounts of wax), the cams only work half the time, etc. This took hours to build and was so disappointing at the end because it didn't even work. I would never buy a Gearjits again.

SO satisfied with this product.
I purchased this product for my 12 year old grandson for Christmas. His siblings wanted Legos and he no longer was interested in them, so this was a perfect building set to compliment theirs. Gearjits were on sale if I bought two, so I was able to get an awesome price. Ordering was easy, even though it was my first time ordering from this company. Items were received in a very timely manner. Very satisfied!
