A: Thank you for your inquiry. Our cream cheese date code stamp is a "best by" date and should be on the clear plastic lid of the container. However, it may be a bit challenging to see in bright light due to the ultra-violet glare if in store so best to tip up the cup/lid at an angle to reduce glare of shelf lighting. We hope this helps. Miyako’s creamery recently changed the ingredients of its product, which now includes natural flavors. However, these flavors are not organic, rendering the product no longer organic. This disappointing change has led me to believe that Miyako’s creamery may be facing the end of its journey.

Miyoko's is my go-to for cream cheese! The consistency is firm but spreadable, it tastes great, and there's no ultra-processed ingredients, oils, or gums (which can be hard to find in the world of vegan cream cheese)! For those worried about the natural flavors, I reached out and they informed me that they're a proprietary whole food blend of berries, oregano, and flaxseed, so I wouldn't let that turn you away.

Added Natural Flavors. This was a healthy alternative for people with allergies but ruined the entire purpose of the product. Won't buy again until they fix the issue. Really disappointed and will lose your customers from this.

This product is absolutely wonderful. It is the best product I have found without gums and other harmful additives. It is as natural as it gets and the flavor is so great I could not stop eating it. I tried this for the first time and I was so shocked at how it actually tastes better than cream cheese with dairy and it has NO DAIRY. Truly amazing. Thank you to the creators of this product. I will be eating this daily.

I don’t eat “natural flavors” so imagine my surprise when I checked my container from my Whole Foods order and it had changed. I have been eating this cream cheese like it was going out of style excited to finally have an option that had truly clean ingredients. So disappointing.

I noticed that the packaging had changed, so I immediately checked the ingredient list to see if it had changed. Most people probably won't check because you didn't alert them to the ingredient change on the front of the package.
I will be contacting Miyokos directly to see if they can tell me why they added natural flavors and what the ingredients of the natural flavors are. So far, all the companies I have contacted to ask what the ingredients of their natural flavors are won't tell me because they don't know or it's proprietary. If you don't know why natural flavors are bad, do some research. Food companies should have to tell their customers every ingredient in their food. Hopefully, someday, natural flavors will be banned from food.
I will miss the Miyokos cream cheese! Hopefully, they will fix it.

Genuinely unsure if mine was a bad batch (not supposed to expire for several weeks) or if this is just how it is, but it smelled and tasted vile, with a weird texture and grey-beige color. Almost like hummus that's gone off. Absolutely awful.

P. S. At the time I wrote this review, the ingredients of the cream cheese had not been updated on the Miyokos website. I discovered the ingredient change in a store in northern California.

If you’re looking for a cream cheese substitute, skip this. It’s tangy and sour, more like an aged cheese spread. As a tangy cheese spread, it’s okay, but it’s not even all that creamy like cream cheese is supposed to be. I’ve had many cream cheese substitutes and I have to say, this is the worst one I’ve tried.
