A great way for the kids to play, practice & learn cause and effect relationships. This board game consists of how moving parts work, mechanical understanding at a an early age and overall having a great time while hunting for cheese!
The Mouse Trap board game is a family favorite and ideal for kids. It's fast-paced gameplay has players quickly navigating through traps and multi-part machines, while collecting cheese and stealing cheese from other players.
Make sure to watch out for the mouse trap as you go about collecting cheese! Have fun, but always be on the lookout. Based on the classic Mouse Trap game, Hasbro Gaming brings you an updated version with an even more engaging gameplay and design.
The Mouse Trap is more than just a board game with mouse traps and cheese, it helps your kids practice valuable skills in construction, understand cause and effect relationships & it's applications along with decision-making.

Setup is too long, the trap never works. The packaging could be better, when it's time to break down the game you gave to take apart everything, which sucks because when you want to play again you have to put it all back together.
Don't waste your money for a game that doesn't work

I gave it 1-star because the game is poorly built and the marble will not make it to the mouse trap without assistance. Which is a pretty integral part of the game. Having to help the marble along each time (mine goes into the bucket, but it launches the marble nowhere near the slide it's supposed to go on), makes the gameplay tedious and making it through a full game is uninteresting. I thought it was just how mine was built, but since so many people have complained about the same thing on every site I've gone to, it can only be poor design and/or execution causing the issue. You would think with so many people complaining they would have fixed it already.
Not as annoying, but also a reason I gave it 1-star because they changed the gameplay. I played this as a kid and I liked how you had to build the mousetrap as you went around the board. The actual mousetrap doesn't mean much in the game with the new rules.
If you're looking for the classic Mousetrap game, this is NOT it. First of all, if you assemble the trap in the order of the directions, you can't get the broom/bucket close enough to the ramp for the marble to go in the tub. Next, the pieces of the trap have been changed-there's no more turning the gear wheel, for instance-as has the layout of the board. But most disappointingly, game play itself is completely different. Rather than building the trap as you go and winning by being the last mouse standing, you start with a fully-built trap and the object now is to be the first to collect 8 pieces of cheese. If you get caught by the trap you are still in the game! Very, very disappointed with the changes to this game, but we have already opened it so I guess I'm stuck trying to figure out how to modify it.
