Q: Does this cup warmer make your cup hot? If it heats to 212 degrees, it seems like the bottom of the cup would get hot though to burn you, or to damage a wood table.

It also automatically shuts off after 30 minutes when the mug is in place. Hence would only hold the coffee warm for 30 minutes. The units' warming plate heats up to 212 Degrees F/100 Degrees C. This is the second Mr. Coffee Mug Warmer I’ve had and I’m very disappointed with it! My first on was a gift and it kept my beverages at whatever temperature they were when I put the mug on it, which was GREAT for me, because I like my beverages hot! I loved it, and took it whenever I traveled! This one, however, is not doing that and my beverages are ending up not hot, only warm. I’ve also noted that the heating plate I sit my cup on wobbles, rocking back and forth as I touch the cup! It’s much lighter weight than the one I was replacing. I am VERY disappointed and think I need to return it and purchase another brand.

If your mug warmer is not heating up properly, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the mug warmer. Let the unit rest for 3-5 minutes. Afterwards, plug it into a different wall outlet. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips and power converters or inverters as it may affect the mug warmer's performance. Your mug warmer has a 1-year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly in order to help you get to the best resolution. It doesn't heat up fast and it got scratched the first time I used it. The surface area is on the smaller size so you can't have a soup mug.

This mug keeps beverages warm, but it scratches very easily. Some ceramic mugs can have small burrs on them. My warmer scratched the second time I used it. I have had two others for at least 10 years. They never scratched. I returned this mug.

Keeps coffee warm, which is ok for me, but many people like their coffee hot. The black finish on the heating plate starts to come off right away--which makes it the warmer unsightly. The switch location at the back of the unit is inconvenient and awkward--it should be on the side or in front and should be a rocker switch, not a slide switch (which requires two hands, one to slide the switch, the other to hold the warmer in place while ooperating the switch). "ON-OFF" indicator light is so dim, it's difficult to tell whether it's on or off under normal lighting. I have always liked the Mr. Coffee brand, but this item doesn't cut it. I use it, daily, but each time I use it, I'm reminded of its inadequacy--a small daily frustration that nobody needs. Model MWC.

This follows me around at home because I always take forever to drink my coffee. It doesn’t keep it piping hot, but still warm, which doesn’t bother me at all. The coating on the heated part has chipped away since using it, but it doesn’t affect the function. Loved it so much I bought an extra one for my husbands desk, and sent my sisters some for their desks.

I received this warmer as a Christmas present and used it for 2 days. After 2 days, the coating on the warmer plate bubbled and peeled off. I exchanged the mug warmer for another one and used the warmer for one day and the coating on the warmer plate is also bubbling and peeling off. I will return the mug warmer but not to exchange but to get our money back. Very disappointed in the quality of the product.

The paint on the heated surface immediately scratched the first use. But aesthetics aside, the warmer works nicely, keeps my coffee warm, not scalding hot. Great addition to my home work desk. Prevents the need to have to keep getting up to heat my coffee in the microwave. Overall I would recommend it.

I bought this to replace a pressure activated mug warmer, which I didn't like. Because I had had a Mr. Coffee warmer for years, I went back to it. Less than a month after I bought it, the black paint on the warming plate is nearly gone. It is a silver color metal. The last Mr. Coffee warmer I had seemed to be made of a different, plastic like material. It never chipped or flaked.

Kept my mug on the warmer for almost 10 minutes and it warmed the bottom of the mug but not the liquid inside the mug. It also was my first time using and the paint on the warmer is already coming off. Do not recommend.

It does get hot, it does a very poor job of keeping the coffee any hotter than lukewarm. A more specific quality issue is the paint on the heating surface scratches off immediately when a cup is lifted off of the hot platen. This impairs radiant heat transfer. Poorly engineered, poorly constructed.
