Q: "Commercially Recyclable" means what? Since when did recycling allow product that had food on it?

submitted by slb - 9 months ago

  • A: Most recyclable products have had food substances on or in it.

submitted byScreen Goat - 4 months ago

  • A: It means they are recyclable if not food soiled… plenty of situations that might happen like if used as art supplies or only dry foods. Glad they are labeled recyclable and commercially compostable so I can use my own brain to send them into the appropriate and best waste stream when done using.

Q: are these waxed? PFAS-free?Made of recycled material?

submitted by tt - 3 years ago

  • A: Glossy, yes. Package says recyclable, and "commercially compostible only". Bought these thinking they weren't waxed and I could compost them in my back yard.

submitted bysnguyen - 3 years ago

  • A: Hello tt - We appreciate your interest in this These are not waxed. No PFAS. Not made from recycled materials., hope you like the product - San

Q: Why on earth do the plates now have grey text on the actual food surface?

submitted by Baffled - 3 years ago

  • A: Mostly for marketing purposes. I don't think it's smart at all to put ink on a surface you eat from. Especially since hot food will dissolve it.

    Good buy!

Kind of thin, but got the job done and didn’t leak or anything! Would definitely buy again. Only four stars because of thinness. Not flimsy though.
