Every single time drive up handles can goods, I have an extremely horrible experience. All the cans are dented in!!!! Botulism!!!!

I love the tomatoes. Getting REALLY tired of badly dented cans. Not sure if Target or manufacturer issue but needs to be addressed.

I ordered six cans of these expensive canned tomatoes for store pickup in January 2025. One of the six cans in my Target order expired in February 2024, and shouldn’t have even been on Target’s shelves. But it was on the shelf, and my Target shopper included it in my pickup order. Now I have to go to the store anyway and get a refund. The product is amazing, Target Store Pickup - not so much! 😡

I originally got these for using in pasta dishes, but so far, they seemed to overwhelm the dishes (which I can fix by adding more other ingredients). But, the other day, I threw these together with a drained can of cannellini beans and some brown rice which I had on hand and wow, just those three things were incredible together!!! So, as it turns out, these fire roasted diced tomatoes are excellent for soups!!! I liked the soup I made with it so much that I'm going to work on it a little more, by adding black rice for texture, plus a base of sauted garlic, onions, and celery, plus maybe okra for a thickener and for the seeds (I love the okra seeds in chicken style soups, etc.), plus maybe some cut-up marinated soy curls, and once I get the recipe figured out, I will add it to the family cookbook. Eventhough these fire roasted diced tomatoes are a natural for pastas, I would say that they lend themselves to soups!! Great product any way you "dice";) it, and I highly recommend!!!

I ordered a bunch of canned tomatoes from Target, and most of the cans came severely dented! According to the USDA: "If a can containing food has a small dent, but is otherwise in good shape, the food should be safe to eat. Discard deeply dented cans. A deep dent is one that you can lay your finger into. Deep dents often have sharp points. A sharp dent on either the top or side seam can damage the seam and allow bacteria to enter the can. Discard any can with a deep dent on any seam." These should not have been sold/shipped to customers!
