Q: I saw that it is made from solid wood, but what is the wood? Also, would it be comfortable to sit on the bench, if the cushion is not on it?

A: The bench is made of acacia wood with a mahogany finish. The bench is solid under the cushion, so it would be safe to sit in. It would be as comfortable as any hard surface.

I love this bench !! Solid wood, beautiful stain, the cushion is a bonus too! Made in Vietnam. Great bench, so easy to put together. Seat and two sides, four bolts, they even include the little tool. It was packaged very nicely. There are 4 "decorative" supports that go underneath (an additional 8 bolts but they're shorter) that I have not attached yet. I am so impressed with this bench. Thanks!

The screws were too big for the holes. I’ve put together many pieces of furniture and this was by far the most infuriating. It should have been a very simple project (shouldn’t have take anyone with experience more than 15-20 minutes). I had a friend try as well as a target employee when I brought it back to return. Such a shame because I really loved the look of it.

Pretty but smelled TERRIBLE!!!! Like toxic! I had to open outside and keep walking away bc I thought I was going to pass out from the fumes it was releasing!!!!!! No WAY will I bring this into my home!

Just what I wanted. Sturdy, attractive, easy-to-assemble, and a bargain at that price. If you want fine furniture, you will pay ten times this amount, but if you want an attractive, usable hall bench, this is it. Light colored pad will need to be recovered in time, but that's easy.

This bench is very sturdy and is good-quality for the reasonable price. It was easy to assemble with an allen wrench. Its transitional style blends easily with my mix of traditional and transitional furniture, because its details are somewhat traditional but it has nice clean lines. The neutral cushion is a big plus, as this can fit in anywhere.
