A: This isn't an espresso powder, it's an instant coffee. The texture of instant coffee is closer to a fine gravel or a course sand than to anything you'd call a powder, while espresso powder is more similar in texture to cocoa powder and powdered sugar. While all espresso powders can be used as a dry ingredient in baking or dessert applications, only some can also be reconstituted into a black coffee beverage (that's always harder to mix and worse to drink than instant coffee honestly) and those will be called "instant espresso powder." If you're ever confused as to which product you're looking at, espresso powder will ALWAYS have the word 'powder' right there on the front of the jar, and instant coffee will NEVER feature the 'powder' on its packaging since it's literally not a powder. Look for either DeLallo or King Arthur brand espresso powder and you'll definitely find what you're looking for without getting mixed up because those two brands don't even make any instant non-powder coffee products. In stores, they should be in the baking ingredient section near items like cocoa powder and chocolate chips and vanilla extract instead of the section with coffee grounds, coffee concentrates, and instant coffees.

i have an expensive coffee maker that makes a good strong cup of coffee but decided to try these instant coffees. havent used an instant in many years. the gold espresso intense matched and was so much easier to prepare with no large machinery on my small counter, the flavor and intensity of my giant machine. excellent product and would serve to anyone.

Not very strong tasting
63 mg caffiene per serving according to Nescafe. This information is missing from the packaging. It should be with nutrition facts so sensitive populations can manage their intake. In the Q&A people recommend using 2 tablespoons per 4oz milk for an iced espresso. However, the serving size on the packaging is 1 teaspoon. There are 3tsps in 1Tbs, so this person is using 6 shots of espresso or 6x63=378mg caffiene in a 4oz drink. It does taste good in this ratio, but I prefer 8 or 12oz drink, and adding any more than 6tsp can cause problems. I think the flavor is too mild, especially for a product called intense. If this has 50tsp per container, and customers think about 6tsp per 4oz milk is a good strong flavor, then this container has about 8-10 true servings in it. At that price, it's about $1.37 a serving, which is on par with other at home coffees. So the price isn't outrageous, but I do want to point out that the flavor is not strong. If you want 8 or 12 ounces, then you'd need to add even more, and that's what I don't want to do, because that's way too much caffiene.

Mixes Well with Protein
I've been buying this for months now and greatly enjoy the product. I have had the Blonde, Intense, and the Vanilla. I have the Caramel but have not tried it yet. I drink the Vanilla and use it for iced coffee. I add creatine, collagen, protein powder and almond milk. It make a great addition to my breakfast and it curbs my hunger. The coffees have an Awesome flavor! I'm totally sold on it!

Amazing. You dont need an espresso machine!
My breville machine recently broke and I was devastated. I’m not in the position to purchase a new one at the moment so I thought I’d try the NesCafe espresso powder instead. When I tell you this is almost identical to freshly pulled espresso, I’m not kidding. The taste is amazing. 1tsp per shot. I like it strong and usually do 3-4 shots. I can easily make a dupe for any of the popular drinks out there and am at the point I prefer my homemade versions best! My favorite is a brown sugar vanilla ice latte. Even grabbed this in decaf to have one in the afternoon. I’m hooked!

Best Instant Coffee I've Found
I usually don't leave reviews, but felt compelled to for this product. It's the best instant coffee / espresso I've found after testing about 15 side by side. I really hope Nestle / Nescafe doesn't change the way they produce this product or stop making it because this is now my top choice for instant coffee. They absolutely nailed it with the Gold Espresso Intense. It tastes the most like real coffee without any funky or bitter aftertaste like you find with other instant coffee. Great bold / dark / robust flavor. This is by far the best instant coffee Nescafe offers.

Quick, rich and delicious
Game changer for coffee lovers! I love a good, strong cup of coffee and found myself making dark roast k-cups on the smallest water setting and still ending up with a "too weak for me" cup. I was researching espresso and found Nescafe Intense. I can easily adjust for the strength and serving size I want and it's perfect every time. Good quality, but the flavor doesn't stick around
I've been using this for about two weeks now, and it's solid instant coffee way better than the grocery store bargain brands. The taste is genuine espresso, not that burnt, bitter stuff you get from cheaper options. Dissolves cleanly in hot water without the weird graininess that bugs me with some instant coffees. The thing is, the flavor fades pretty fast. I get a nice hit of espresso in the first minute or two, then it mellows out noticeably. If you like your coffee strong all the way through, you might need to use more per cup which adds up with the price. It's not cheap for instant coffee, so if you're looking for maximum bang for your buck, there might be better options out there. That said, it's genuinely good for what it is. If the price drops or I find myself needing a quick quality cup more often, I'd probably grab it again. Just depends on the situation.
