Q: Is there a way to transfer ONLY my own data, and not all the data from my previous Switch? I'm moving from a shared console to a personal one.

submitted by Mintyy - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi Mintyy, thanks for reaching out about Nintendo Switch 2 Console Transferring your Nintendo Switch profile and save data from a shared console to a personal one is possible. I absolutely love my switch 2.. I spoiled myself and I one for my birthday 😂 I rushed all the way to Compton, well...rancho Dominguez to get my switch! It's been just over a month or so since I've owned it and it's great! Now, 2 extreme cons... GAME KEY CARDS.... Nintendo is vile for that... also they didn't change the technology to have joycons without stick drift... the screen, don't worry about it.. I have the switch 1, the oled and now the s2 and the lcd looks extremely good. Besides those two cons the switch is fantastic... I just refuse to buy a key card... I would rather have the switch 1 version of the game and know that the game is mine forever. Also the joy cons are super expensive

This is Nintendo's newest old console to hit the market. Being outdated by release is sort of the current go to for them. It also does not help that the games cost more on Switch 2 than other platforms for an inferior product. Buying the Switch 2 is stating one thing, you are a fan of Nintendo and will buy Nintendo exclusive games. Even the on the go portion is not a great selling point as there are options to do that with every platform. The Nintendo Network is definitely the furthest behind and stability is still an issue. The features they praise are also not that impressive. They mention using a JoyCon like a mouse, but with the other platforms, you can use a real mouse and keyboard even for shooters. The camera is also not a massive upgrade and uploading content from Switch 2 is just not really a thing. If you only have the Switch 2, it may make sense. It is your way of experiencing some of what the other options can give you. If you bought a Switch 2 then, it is because you want to play the next Mario, or now the remake of the remake of the remake. People were making fun of competitors for this, but the upgrades with Switch 2 releases are less than that of the competitors. For me it is going to be about games like Metorid Prime 4, Legend of Zelda, and the smaller odds and ends that other platforms just will not get. Especially when games like Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection will even cost $10 more for the Switch 2 versions.

Nintendo has gotten omg to darn greedy. It's truly not worth the $450. If your a family of three once you get that third switch your digital games will not work freely, you have to go through so many steps just for that third person to use your digital games even if your paying a Nintendo family plan.

Delivery was god awful and FedEx opened my box to view the contents or see what they could steal… I came home to an open box and inside that large box was my switch and nothing else no protection to keep it from bouncing around. This was my first online purchase from target and it was my last. BUY YOUR ITEMS ELSEWHERE…

You can’t get physical cartridges and the joycons literally fall off while you’re playing. This was a terrible design that they’re forcing on us. I brought it to GameStop and got credit so I can play games on a less terrible console.

The Switch 2 will not pair to newer smartphones. I discovered this while trying to connect the Pokemon Go app on my smartphone to Pokemon Violet on the Switch 2. After trying every troubleshooting instruction, unpairing all other Bluetooth devices from the smartphone, uninstalling & reinstalling the Pokemon Go app 5 times, and restarting the Switch 2 dozens of times, I called Nintendo support. I followed their directions (which were identical to what I had already tried) and the smartphone would still not connect to the Switch 2. Nintendo support said they did not have a fix for this issue. When someone spends over $500 they should have something that works. Nintendo either did not adequately test the Switch 2 or, worse yet, knew that this issue existed and chose to rush the Switch 2 to market anyway.
