submitted by barneyme - 7 years ago
  • A: It does not come with a game and at this time WiiU games are not compatible with this device.

submitted byIcyBones - 7 years ago
  • A: The Switch does not come with any games, and if you want to use Wii U games you will probably have to buy another copy for the Switch.

submitted byMadelyn - 7 years ago
  • A: The Nintendo Switch will not come with a game, and Wii and WiiU games will not work with it.

submitted byVindios - 7 years ago
  • A: It doesn't come with any games on it, and physical Wii/Wii U games will not work with the Switch (it uses cartridges similar to the DS handhelds).

    submitted byCherryb6mb - 7 years ago
  • A: It does not come with any games, and no WiiU or 3DS games will work.

submitted byQueuepons - 7 years ago
  • A: No one knows if it would come with a game yet. Most likely No and it does not play Wii U Games. This console uses Cartridges and not it also won't work with 3ds games.

submitted bykevporteretna - 7 years ago
  • A: As of now it does not come with a game just the system itself. Nintendo WiiU games will not work with this system.

submitted byTito - 7 years ago
  • A: No, all games are sold separately. And I'm assuming that Wii U games will not work on the consol, however I may be wrong

submitted byNintendo Freak - 7 years ago
  • A: The basic package does not come with a game and it only plays Switch games.

submitted byJim - 6 years ago
  • A: No games are included with the console. You must buy them separately. No, there is no backwards compatibility with previous console game discs or cartridges. Wii U discs cannot be played on this console.

submitted byCor - 7 years ago
  • A: No it doesn't I guess it was mentioned in the presentation

submitted bywiigamer - 7 years ago
  • A: The Switch does not come with any games but will be backwards compatible to Wii U games.

    submitted byN8 - 7 years ago
  • A: No it is not backwards compatible, and no there is no pack in game

    submitted byShad224 - 7 years ago
  • A: Does not come with any games, and Wii U games will not work as it will use cartridges rather than disks

submitted byAcquiescinit - 7 years ago
  • A: No, the Switch does not have any games bundled with it. You will have to buy games separately. Wii U games will not work because there is no disc drive. The Switch only uses cartridges and will not be compatible with past Wii U or 3DS games.

submitted byKim - 7 years ago
  • A: It does not come with any games and it is not backwards compatible.

    submitted byLyl3 - 7 years ago
  • A: The Nintendo Switch uses cards that are like the 3ds, so it doesn't play Wii u games. It doesn't come with any games but this is the list of know games: Launch (March 3): 1-2-Switch Just Dance 2017 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Skylanders: Imaginators Bomberman R March/Spring: Arms (Spring 2017) Has-Been Heroes (March 2017) I Am Setsuna (March 2017) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (April 28) Puyo Puyo Tetris (Spring 2017) Snipperclips, Cut It Out Together (March 2017) Summer: Rime Splatoon 2 Beyond/TBD: Disgaea 5 Complete (TBD) Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (2017) FIFA (2017) Fire Emblem Warriors (TBD) Minecraft (2017) Minecraft: Story Mode (TBD) Rayman Legends (TBD) NBA 2K (2017) New Shin Megami Tensei (TBD) Skylanders Imaginators (TBD) Skyrim (Fall 2017) Sonic Mania (2017) Steep (2017) Super Mario Odyssey (Holiday 2017) Syberia 3 (TBD) Ultra Street Fighter II (2017) Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (2017)

    submitted byRandomCorgi21 - 7 years ago
  • A: The Nintendo Switch does not seem to come with any games bundled in. Because the Nintendo Switch uses cartridges and not discs to run games, you will not be able to play WiiU games on it. While the cartridges look similar to those on the 3DS, they are in fact different and thus not compatible either.

    submitted byMikhail K - 7 years ago
  • A: It doesn't come with any preinstalled games

submitted byAmiyumi - 22 days ago

Q: Is this new system going to have built it games or actual games to buy?

submitted by Quedlce - 7 years ago
  • A: You are going to have to buy games separately for the system, either in the digital shop or in stores.

submitted byMadelyn - 7 years ago
  • A: No, the console will not include any games. What you see on the box is what you get. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released on the same day, as well as 1-2-Switch, which has been compared to Wii Sports and Nintendo Land.

    submitted byN8 - 7 years ago
  • A: The games come in cartridge form (similar to a SD card or a 3DS game, for reference). While eventual plans with the online subscription indicate that there will be downloadable games, it seems the traditional format (games purchased separately) is still the method this system is utilizing.

submitted byNintendoAnswers - 7 years ago
  • A: No built in games yet that we know of but probably not. This console uses Cartridges and no it also won't work with 3ds games.

submitted bykevporteretna - 7 years ago
  • A: Games to buy. None are built in.

submitted byJim - 6 years ago
  • A: You can either download the games digitally or go for a hard copy of the game cartridges.

submitted byTito - 7 years ago
  • A: There are launch titles announced for physical copies and digital.

    submitted byLyl3 - 7 years ago
  • A: Nope. All games are sold separately, and the release titles consist of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild", and "1, 2 Switch!" And a few others. They will still have the EStore on this console most likely.

submitted byNintendo Freak - 7 years ago
  • A: It will not come equipped with any games, physically or downloaded. On release, there are a couple of games coming out that you can buy with this system, and there are some bundled Switch options that come with multiple games for a steeper cost.

    submitted byCherryb6mb - 7 years ago
  • A: You will be able to purchase games on the Nintendo Eshop but nothing will come "pre-installed" on the system.

  • A: They will have ports of games from the Wii U, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but will not be able to play the WiiU discs. The Nintendo Switch uses cartridges to run games and does not have a disc reader, thus making it impossible to play WiiU games.

Q: Is this the latest version of the Nintendo switch that came out this summer with longer lasting battery life?

submitted by Jaxon - 4 years ago
  • A: Yes this is the one with up to 9 hours of battery. The most it can be.

submitted bySamuel - 3 years ago
  • A: this model number ending with -01 is the newest model with longer battery life. Description when I looked it up says it can be played on TV, by tablet or hand held

submitted byKarma Rose - 4 years ago
  • A: Yes, it is the new model of the Nintendo Switch with the longer battery. No, it is not the Nintendo Switch Lite. The Model number for the new switch with the bigger battery is the same as the old one except with a "(-01)" following it, which this one has. "HAC-001(-01)" is the one in the description and it has the (-01), so it is the newer switch.

submitted byZachH - 4 years ago
  • A: No that was the lite which is a mobile only device

submitted byMacie - 4 years ago
  • A: No no no!!! This has the picture of the new box but the model # on the specs is the old which starts with HAC. The new model starts with HAD

submitted byMary - 4 years ago
  • A: It is, up to 8 hrs if fully charged I believe. It’s definitely worth it.

    submitted byNoob1234 - 4 years ago
  • A: There is a lot of misinformation being spread on this question. There are, in fact, 2 different model numbers for the Switch that has the longer lasting battery. The very latest one starts with HAD, as another answer states. However, the earliest units that have the improved battery came with a model number HAC-001(-01), as yet another person stated. There is also a difference in the box art (as yet a third person stated). The specs provided indicate this is the Switch with the longer lasting battery, as it indicates HAC-001(-01), and it also has the newer box art. However, if you want to be ABSOLUTELY SURE this is the longer lasting battery, since this model reflects the HAC-001(-01) model number, you should also check the serial number. For the HAC models, the serial number MUST start with XKW. If it does not, look for one that does before purchasing.

  • A: NO!!!!! I can't believe you Karen!!!

submitted byYour brain cells - 4 years ago
  • A: Macie's answer is 100% incorrect. This IS the new model with the longer battery life. You can tell by the red box. The original model had a white box.

submitted byJonathan - 4 years ago
  • A: the lite does have a longer battery life Macie

Q: What games will this be compatible with?

submitted by jenjonesnc - 7 years ago
  • A: Nintendo Switch only. Ports will most likely be available.

    submitted byLyl3 - 7 years ago
  • A: It will only play Switch Games that come out for it. It is not backward compatible.

submitted bykevporteretna - 7 years ago
  • A: No backwards compatibility for other consoles' have discs or consoles. Only Nintendo Switch games can be inserted. Nintendo has announced they will be supporting downloadable NES and SNES games. History suggests they will probably support other consoles as well, but you will need to download them (and probably repurchase them).

submitted byCor - 7 years ago
  • A: Only Switch games and whatever Virtual Console games they release for it.

submitted byOmuko - 7 years ago
  • A: Nintendo Switch only titles or anything on Nintendo's Eshop.

  • A: Only Nintendo Switch games. Wii U and 3DS games will not work on the system.

Q: I would like to purchase the Nintendo switch that can connect to the tv. which one is it

submitted by Jean - 4 years ago
  • A: This one will connect to the TV. As others have mentioned, the Switch Lite models are mobile-only and won't connect to the TV, but the regular Switch models connect to the TV.

Q: Does the Switch come with the part in between the Joy-Con controllers or do you have to hold them separately unless you buy the accessory to hold them together?

submitted by Ariana - 7 years ago
  • A: A Joy-Con controller grip (combines the two Joy-Cons together to form one controller) comes in the box with the Switch. There is another that you can buy separately for $30 that looks the same but has the feature to charge the controllers while connected to the grip. The Joy-Cons do have around a 20 hour battery life, just need to remember to slot them back onto the switch when you are between play sessions.

submitted byPSYZON - 7 years ago
  • A: Yup! It is called the "Joy-Con Grip" and it is included with everything else.

submitted byCulmanO - 7 years ago
  • A: The one that comes with the console DOES NOT charge the JoyCons. You will need to buy the JoyCon charging charging grip for $30.

submitted bySepioth - 7 years ago
  • A: It comes with the part between to hold them while it is in the docked position.

submitted byHylianKnight - 7 years ago

Q: If we pre-order, will it arrive on the 3rd? Or will it only be shipped on the 3rd?

submitted by Kuro The Cat - 7 years ago
  • A: If you paid $15 for shipping it is supposed to arrive on release day.

submitted byPais - 7 years ago
  • A: I chatted with someone in support today and they claimed that preorders will DELIVER on the 3rd. So I'm counting on that

submitted byStreetSharks - 7 years ago
  • A: I paid $15 for it to arrive on release day, but now the expected arrival date is the 4th. So we'll see.

submitted byBen - 7 years ago
  • A: The support rep I just spoke with said that pre-orders should ship on the 2nd and arrive on the 3rd (even with the free shipping option) unless there is an issue with the carrier. Mine showed a later date, but that is just a placeholder.

Q: Does the Nintendo Switch have bluetooth?

submitted by koretexmex - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes it will have Bluetooth built into the consol

submitted byNintendo Freak - 7 years ago
  • A: To my knowledge Nintendo has not announced if it will allow third party devices but Nintendo has been using Bluetooth since the Wii. I would assume it will because it is a mobile device and they would want to allow headsets to work on it anywhere.

submitted byIcyBones - 7 years ago
  • A: The console specifications do not indicate that it has bluetooth capability.

submitted byRekoor - 7 years ago
  • A: No. It only has WiFi capabilities.

It doesn’t come with GAMES, it’s laggy, sometimes the buttons don’t connect with your screen or when connected to the TV, the warranty with NINTENDO is horrible, they will only repair it but won’t replace the entire item, games are sold separately and the PRICE is RIDICULOUS, it’s great for kids when they reach a certain age because with one drop, THATS IT, games that are usually free you have to purchase and with the price of the Nintendo system alone I find that outrageous. But it was my mistake I should’ve done my research, and checked on the warranty. But I’m definitely returning it tomorrow, I don’t want the hassle. YOU’RE JUST BETTER OFF PURCHASING A PS5!

Check the device before you leave the store! We purchased the switch in store only to get home and find out that it’s horribly damaged and obviously used. Target needs to be better about checking items returned to them. Complete waste of my time.

We like the Switch so far! I like having controller options. Obviously, the graphics get better and better with every Nintendo update. So far we’ve purchased Mario Kart, Luigi’s Mansion, and Super Mario Odyssey. It’s something fun my husband and I like to do together. Great purchase!

The item was defective. I called Nintendo the same day I purchased the item and was notified the switch was not under warranty. I’m totally confused why is that. The associate at Target acted as if I was lying. Be careful purchasing the switch. Just plug it in as soon as you get home. Try a game in there to make sure it works.

I have many old Nintendo products including my old systems from the 80's and 90's that still work. My Switch broke with minimal use. It was never dropped or wet it stays in a case when not being used. The controllers needed to be replaced after 6 months. Then again a year later. After a year the touch screen stopped responding. I took my glass protective cover off the screen to see if it was that interfering and it was not the issue. A few months after that it now says it can't read my game cards. I checked the games on a friend's switch and they work fine. I tried all the hacks to get the card reader to work again and they have all failed. It's ridiculous this thing cost so much money and breaks so easily. My original gameboy and ds systems work like they are new. Idk what Nintendo do did with this system.

Lost hundreds of hours of save data transferring from my Lite to the console. If you are playing on downloaded versions you are forced to transfer the data in a very risky way, during the transfer the save data is deleted from the old device (I guess you aren't allowed to have the same save data on two consoles...) if anything goes wrong during the transfer the save data is lost forever. I am almost heart broke over the time I will never get back :( This is so irresponsible of Nintendo, I spent 300 upgrading my system and this is how they thank me. this has happened to many other so please beware! There is NO WAY to safely transfer save data currently on switch devices

Was sold a used switch advertised as new. Bought my switch thinking it would be brand new. Go to set it up and was surprised when someone else’s account was it and it activity said “Emily” was playing a game. I returned it right away no issues and received a brand new one. Be careful and check before buying

It was a great Christmas present. It was politely used as a gift. It was a great family gift. My grandma used it to play Mario Cart. I used it to play Animal Crossing, Agnes, Teddy and I were both on a mission to find a new game for our Nintendo Switch.

I bought this for Christmas for kiddos. I plugged it up on dock to charge, and nothing. The dock light blinks green light fast. 3 different original chargers do not work. Tried the 20 sec power hold and tap power once suggestion. Nintendo logo shows up and goes black again. No damage, no falls, no excessive wear. This happened with 2 switch lites as well. I am very disappointed because these aren’t the cheapest things to replace for your average person. If I didn’t spend so much on accessories and games, I would just stop buying them all together. Do better Nintendo.
