This looks so much like the Santa who used to visit our home each year on Christmas Eve. My non-Irish schoolmates regaled me with stories of sober Santas who left wrapped presents in their stockings, while our dear Irish Santa helped himself to our green beer, then passed out beneath our tree. This brilliant ornament captures a reminder that Irish is synonymous with alcohol in case anyone attempts to think beyond generic stereotypes. Lovely!
