Q: Is this lid marked for recycling?

submitted by 2 cats mama - 1 year ago

  • A: Hello, The Nordic Ware 10 Inch Deluxe Plate cover has a recycle #7. You will want to check with your local recycling if this type is accepted or if there is another facility that will accept. Kind Regards, Nordic Ware Customer Experience Team

Q: Will it handle high heat

submitted by Kathy - 1 year ago

  • A: Hello, The Plate Cover is ok with standard microwave high heat settings. When used in the microwave with food, the Deluxe Plate Cover remains 'invisible' to the microwaves themselves. However, the plastic can become hot due to the heat transferred from the food. Kind Regards Nordic Ware Customer Experience Team

Love the redesign! Replaced my old Nordic Ware plate covers, which I've had for years. Just received my order of three today. Can't wait to use them. Made in USA...a win win!

Great utility accessory to prevent microwave splatter. Fits well on a standard dish plate. On the negative side, it is very overpriced.

Please go back to the older original larger size! It has small holes around the top of the sides and one large hole in the middle to pick it up by and it doesn’t stick down and touch the food. It is MUCH better than the new ones you offer. Why did you change a good design!

This product is poorly designed. It covers food okay against splatters but the handle PROTRUDES INTO food!! Not good and messy - the handle should be flush or protrude above the top of this cover. Or the ceiling of this be pitched , cmon now.

Size and clarity of cover are very helpful for warming up food. However the handle needs something to grab onto as oils and steam can make it slippery and hard to remove.

This is a great piece. I am always covering plates with wet paper towels, loose glass lids that do not fit. It is perfect. The cover prevents splatters, allows steam to escape, and the microwave stays clean. I wish I had this years ago. Thank you

Close to junk. i agree with another buyer you cannot pick up the cover the handle is to slippery. So i tried a pice of tape on the handle put in microwave 3 min and it melted the cover. The cover is Junk and I have a photo for proof. I would ask for a replacement i I won’t ever buy from this company again

At first, I thought it was a little bit on the pricing side, but wanting to keep my microwave clean from splashing I absolutely love this cover for foods in microwave. It also easy to clean

The cover is nice. One strong suggestion is to add a 'rough area' on the sides of the middle plastic handle on the unit. After use, the handle has moisture (steam) from the vent holes coating the sides of the middle handle. A plastic 'rough area' may solve this making the handle less likely to slip out of one's hand when removing it from the microwave.

Better than expected.

It is of much higher quality than expected. I've bought similar items of differing quality and have been disappointed in size, height and flimsiness. The price seemed a bit much, but I trusted in the Nordic Ware name and was pleasantly surprised. The quality is top-notch. I had purchased a 1.3 cu ft microwave unit and ordered this plate cover to go with it. Rather than a simple plate cover, it covers the rotating glass base plate in the unit, right to the edge, and is high enough to accommodate just about any stuffed plate.

Great cover except the grip to pick it up slides out of your fingers if you have any butter on your fingers. The handle should have an edge added to it. I love that it’s made in the USA thank you!

Used daily!

I really like this microwave cover because it’s flat on top! We store the cover in the microwave since it’s used frequently, but sometimes I just want to reheat my coffee. It’s great to just be able to set something on top of it rather than remove it every time. (Yes, just me being lazy). It’s also great if you want to heat something that splatters and something that doesn’t (or has its own lid) on top, as long as you don’t cover the vent hole. It’s easy to wash and more sturdy than others I’ve seen. The higher price is worth it, in my opinion.

Just received ours. Sturdy material. A bit concerned by the "handle" being a single large hole in the middle. Appears to have been cut, rather than molded so it's a bit ragged and seems likely to subject a finger to steam. Others seem to like it so we'll see. Seems to be a competing 10" product with a more suitable grip matching a cover we used to have.
