This size candle needs more than one wick. It burns itself out from the wax melting before any mosquito repelling effects are experienced.

We purchased 2 of these candles for a camping trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. These did a great job at repelling mosquitoes for the two of us. I would recommed - just be aware that you might need additional candles for larger # of people.

It's a good value too! The 3-wick candle is not much more than the 2/1 wicked ones, and seems pretty strong smelling and seems to work better.

We bought these while in Port A for the patio the wouldn't stay lit longer than a minute. If there's so much as a small breeze they won't work. The only reason I give the one star rating is to leave the review.

Despite the fact that these are excellent for adding atmosphere to outdoor settings, if it's too windy, they won't stay lit. After each usage, when the wax has cooled and set, make sure to cut the wick by ½" or less; this will ensure more effective burning. We'd like to speak with you further and have the chance to help. It's a great size for the money as well! We have used it every night since we got it and it's made a world of a difference!

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. The citronella smell of this candle is strong even before the candle is lit. The large size is nice for patios and camping. However, the product listing clearly stated both in the images and description that this product would help reduce the presence of mosquitoes. I was very disappointed to receive this product and see that it shows on the packaging that it is "not intended to repel mosquitoes". This is very misleading and defeats the point of this type of product. The candle wicks also blow out easily in any wind.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. This OFF! Backyard Citronella Candle does the job it claims: "Reduces Presence of Mosquitos". Although it takes a few minutes to start releasing the citronella oil once the wicks are lit (the packaging suggests lighting 30 minutes ahead of time for maximum effect), the candle creates a circular repellent zone that mosquitos can't stand. This candle is a must for backyard activities, dinners on the deck or even watching fireworks from the beach.

We're able to just set it on the table when we're outside and eating dinner on our patio and it doesn't put off a lot of smoke so it doesn't bother us a lot as we're eating, but keep the bugs away so well!
