The tricks are simple and easy to learn while still being impressive and repeatable. It is a great first kit to introduce a child to magic.

My oldest nephew is an amature magician and my 5 year old daughter ADORES him. She has been begging me to help her “become magic like jeffy” but I was really worried that any magic set I got her would be too hard for her to learn anything. My friend suggested this kit after her kid received one for christmas and it’s PERFECT. As soon as I gave it to her, my daughter spent weeks learning and practicing her tricks. (I must have seen them each over a hundred times now) But they really are pretty impressive, especially when a 5 year old is doing it. She is struggling to master a few of the card tricks but even without those she has a full performance worth of tricks now and she is SO excited to see my nephew and “trick him” with everything she’s learned.

My 6 year old son and I LOVE this! Some of the tricks will have to wait until he's a little older, but he can do most of them already (although some practice is required). Most of the tricks he's learned to do so far are really good. He enjoys amazing his friends and his father with them and I see this toy being used for years to come!

Confidence/Skills -- yet also Educational! I bought this and one other Open The Joy kit as gifts for two sets of younger cousins I have and, let me tell you, they absolutely love it. From the moment they opened the present, they wouldn’t stop hugging me and showing off the first trick that they snuck away to learn. I was actually shocked that they managed to go off and learn a trick on their own in just a few minutes and they honestly had me fooled the first couple of times they did it. The magic set comes with a bit less tricks then other sets but I’ve always found that over half the tricks that come in those massive sets are useless and it becomes exhausting searching through it for one that isn’t too complicated or unimpressive. I didn’t have time to go through absolutely everything on the night I gave them the present but from what I saw, every trick was really solid and impressive while still being easy to learn. I started going through some of the main stuff with them and we were able to learn the magic trick performances pretty quickly, I also loved that the instructions came with step by step pictures. That makes it much easier for kids like my one cousin who isn’t old enough to read that well yet. While some of the tricks can’t be explained just thorough pictures, he will definitely be able to figure out a good amount on his own.

My seven-year-old has been interested in magic tricks lately so I thought this set would be great for her to learn a few tricks herself. She loves it! It's perfect for beginners and has a few tricks I haven't seen in other sets I've seen in the past. The disappearing coin trick has been her favorite so far and was super easy to learn for her age. She also really likes the rope cutting trick. The self-coloring coloring book is what she is trying to master right now. She loves watching me do it but she hasn’t gotten the hang of flipping through the book yet. It's one I'm sure she'll get better at as she grows. My five-year-old has learned some tricks as well but has mostly been the audience for his sister. Overall, this is a really fun set to introduce kids to magic.

My almost 7 year old loved it! We haven’t done all the tricks yet but what we have done has been fun and pretty easy to get the hang of. There are a bunch of good tricks to learn. Some use common household items apart from what the bag includes but most of the tricks are done with the props or cards included. By far our favorite was the mind reading mummy trick! I’m definitely buying some of these kits for Christmas!

My 4 year old grandson got a Magician's outfit for his birthday, but there was no magic wand with it, so I bought this set for him as it had a wand. Being a smart little cookie, after a little practice he mastered nearly all the tricks that came with the bag. It was great entertainment while we were babysitting, so when his parents came home they were in for a magical treat! The magic props were very good, and it came with a full set of cards that we also used for a round of go fish. The book that came with the set teaches a lot of tricks, some very simple and some a bit harder - I like that they included how difficult the trick is at the top. Great fun for moms and dads to help budding magicians build up some confidence and go-to tricks. A bargain price for the set. Great fun for all. Very impressed.

I love these items - my favorite was the cards! Our kids have had lots of fun with the magic kits and even now want to be a magician of their own. It has taught confidence and our shy daughter has been very outspoken ever since.

All of the Tricks included in the kit were very cool. Nothing corny or cheesy. The best part was that the instructions were easy and illustrated, so that kids can actually learn the tricks. Very satisfied.

Our family had a blast playing with these tricks and learning the secrets of magic on our last family trip. The instructions are clear enough for even a newbie to perform fun tricks. It can be a fun gift for family game night, gatherings, or a kid that likes to learn to perform magic tricks. Best part of all, if you asked me, was watching my little cousins successfully fool the adults with some of the magic tricks! Not bad for a little kids magic set!
